If the NJ Nets are going to do anything in the post season
It has to be exactly like what they did to Sacramento last night.
The only things which can interchange would be Martin having a more offensive game and Rodney Rogers missing some shots (HE WAS HOT LAST NIGHT!). Detroit nor Indiana would be able to keep up. The hardest part for NJ is coming with that effort consistently |

KMart is playing on a sprained ankle, and because the game was such a blowout he didn't play much. IMO, the Nets are still the best team in the East. They have more offensive firepower than anyone else, and they have J Kidd. He's fucking unreal.

I honestly believe that if Alonzo Mourning was not out for forever, the Nets would be able to compete with anyone in the Western Conferene. They've got a superstar point guard in Kidd, a solid 2 guard with Kittles, Jefferson could jump out of the gym, KMart is steadily moving up the ranks as a premier power forward. If only they had someone in the middle who could bang with the likes of Shaq and Tim Duncan, they could bring home the championship to the turnpike.

Both Kidd and Martin were @ no more than 50%.
Kidd could hardly move and KMart was slow and he still showed KMart a thing or two. I am not even looking to argue becuase I like great games. Nets vs Pacers/Pistons will be as good as any West Coast series. Kidd & martin were hurt last night. |

I love how people don't count Cleveland in anything having to do with the East. Lebron and Boozer playing that well, 7 straight, they are playing as good, if not better then anyone in the NBA. 3 weeks ago they were 10th in the east, now they are playoff bound. They are without a doubt good enough to spoil anyones playoff run.
IMO, NJ is not the best team in the east, Indiana is. 16-5 (Only 5 games they've lost have been LA/Sac/Minn 2 times/SA) against teams in the west. Best record on basketball. NJ is not even close to anything the Pacers are. NJ is around .500 against the west. (3-9 against LA/SAC/Houston/SA and Dallas). Indiana leads the season series with NJ 2-1. No question who the best in the east is. EDIT: w00t, go Cleveland! Last edited by Kurant; 03-19-2004 at 07:46 AM.. |

That was just one game...
One game in which the Nets were celebrating the fact that they scored over 70 points... despite being thoroughly trashed. One game in which the Nets fouled with 13 seconds left in a blowout... just so they could TRY to score over 70 points. One game leaving Kidd and Martin whining post game, while the Pistons took it in stride. Why don't they just shut up and play? The Nets had a nice run right after the coaching change, but the shine is fading. Look for a Pacer/Piston war in the conference finals.

Boozer and Z combined average more points and boards than Big Ben and Rasheed. |

If Kidd and Martin were hurt, why were they playing? It would be smarter for them to be full health going into the playoffs. Maybe they weren't 100%, but them being 50% is very untrue. Martin looked all but fine, but Detroit's D was just too much for them last night. Kidd was a bit slow, but Detroit did huge damage to NJ with their backup guards in (hunter and james). True, it was only one game, and true, anything can and will happen. But I still think the Nets aren't the best team, and I don't know what the pistons have to do to get their respect. Shut out the other team? Hold them below 50?

The cav's are definitley on a roll. But, beyond Z, boozer and Lebron, who do they have? No one really. I mean, the rest of their team isn't horrid, but there is a reason they sucked last year. Boozer and Z combine for more points/boards than the Wallaces, because they have to in order for the cav's to win. The Cavs just better hope that their 3 stay healthy.

This year its all about the Pacers and Pistons. As of late, the Pacers have been playing good. Miller, Artest, O'neal, and Tinsley, have good chemistry. And with the new pick up of Wallace, the Pistons turned into a legit contender for the East. To get over the hump, i think Wallace is their missing link. As for the Nets, i just think they lack a good scorer. I mean Kidd is good, but Martin, Kittles, Jefferson are too streaky in shooting.

The Nets are a joke and won't last in a 7 game series with either Detroit or Indiana. What it comes down to is New Jersey has no inside presence and no depth coming off the bench.

Couldn't agree more with Mojo... the pistons and the pacers are the only teams in the east that can contend with the west. The pistons have a deep bench and the pacers are just damn good. one way or another it's going to be the pistons and the pacers in the eastern conference finals
