ACC Tournament

Four games today. Decided by a total of 21 points. An outside shot of every team playing today getting in the NCAA tournament.

Any doubters that the ACC is still the best basketball conference?

(BTW...Fear the Turtle)

No doubt. Great day for the ACC all around. There was some real talent on that Wake Team that the Terps beat tonight. They are going to be tough in the NCAAs for somebody and one of the top teams in the county next year.

It was unreal to see the terps win that game. Very happy to see 5 wins against ranked opponents. Not too shabby for an unranked team.

Go Terps!

I hadn't really followed Maryland this year after they lost a few early on in the season. I turn around, and they're 6th in the ACC. Wow, I'm impressed; they've gelled quite well, I guess.

Speaking of great teams, my Jackets sure did have a have a photo finish today, didn't they? I held my breath through the last 7 seconds of that game - very tight. Gotta say, I'm looking forward to tomorrow's games. It seems anyone's beatable in this league . . . as long as it's by someone else in the ACC. That was shown many times today, from the way that UVA hung in there with Duke throughout the entire game to the lead that FSU stretched out onto NCST. Though neither of them won those games, they showed that nobody's invulnerable and that everyone's pretty damned good.

Good luck to your Terps, hope to see them in the finals on Sunday. I can assure you that I'm sincere - I like Maryland, and I really can't fucking stand NC State. Enjoy tomorrow. The NCAA's should be interesting, as well. I wasn't planning on getting any work done for a while, anyway. Enjoy.

There are far Greater Evils in the ACC than GA-Tech. Beat those punks at Duke!

I've got nothing against Georgia Tech (even though my favorite memory of Maryland football was the 2001 overtime game when Maryland won on two long field-goals...). Virginia, NC State, and Duke on the other hand...

Yeah, I'm a huge VT fan, so UVA generally disgusts me. I was still hoping they'd beat Duke yesterday, though.

I didn't start hating Duke until recently. It seems like they always get the calls, and I can't say I like anyone I've ever met from there.

This game isn't looking good . . .

ok, that game blew. The second ten minutes of it seemed to only go Tech's way, but in the second half, Duke was just perfect. Good luck to whoever plays them in the next round, and, for the record, I hope it's Maryland.

Hell.

Maryland's not looking great, but it's only bad luck. NC State is hitting everything, while Maryland can't get any shots to drop. I'm expecting a nice run to start the second-half, so we'll see...

Wow, I'm stunned. How the hell did they come back? Again, I stopped watching and Maryland stuns me. Good luck tomorrow, y'all. I'd want them to win anyway . . . just as long as they aren't playing Tech. Should be exciting.

What-a-game. Maryland couldn't miss in the second half, and their defense was relentless once they started that press. Duke's getting a run for their money.

I think most people hate Duke because of Vitale and his bias towards them. I actually have a lot of respect for Coach K, but can't stand the preferential treatment the get from the media. Same reasons I don't like Jordan, etc.

Maryland's up by two on Duke at the half.

What scares me is that 1) Duke is 0-7 on three-point attempts, which will definatly change, and 2) they got an emotional lift with Duhon's injury and return, and that may carry over.

The Terps look real good though, so I'm still pumped.

speachless. I knew I needed to log in to the TFP, but I am not sure what to say.

This means only one micron less than winning the National Championship for me. The ACC Tournament is the final jewel in Gary's crown. What can you say about Gary Williams since getting to UMD.

They played a road tournament from every NC school and Carolina refs the whole way and still pulled it out. I loved the shot of the crying child at the end of the game. A young Krezalaskdgfalkhjflkasdsksy. I have all three saved on my HD. Williams crying, Duhan crying and now some whitebred kid with a Duke jersey. Screw off Duke.

BTW, this was our OFF year. we have EVERYONE back next year and they are a year smarter. I seriously don't care what we do in the NCAAs. No matter what this is the kind of thing that defines a program.

I am in awe.

Ho.ly. shit.

Shocking. What an excellent game. I totally thought that Duke was going to beat Maryland in the second half like they did us yesterday, and it looked like they started to. Then they came back. The last two minutes of the overtime period were very exciting. I was amazed. Congrats to you Terps fans.

Of all the great teams they've had over the last 20 years and THIS is the team that wins the ACC??? INCREDIBLE!!!! Just 2 weeks we were wondering if they would make the NCAA tournament.

They are one of the hottest teams in the country right now and I certainly wouldn't want to face them. I don't think they'll get to the Elite 8, but they could be dangerous.

I think they can make the Final Four. The three teams ahead of them in the region they can definatly beat (and beat one of them twice already). Almost nothing happens as expected in the NCAA tourney, so no one can really say what will happen, but even if we lose to UTEP, it has been a HELL of a year!.

I was rooting for Duke, but I have to give Maryland props. I started not liking Maryland when their kids started throwing stuff at the bench and gave Carlos Boozer's mom a concussion. Not cool. UMd students really need to learn to behave.

What about all those classy fans at Duke that liked to remind Juan Dixon of his parents' deaths from AIDS?

A few morons do not a student body make.
