I still don't understand why they would give this much to Portis but not to Bailey. Bailey was already making an impact, they will need to add several offensive lineman before Portis will be able to make an equal impact. Now, they don't have the money to pursue those players in FA, and they have almost no picks for the draft. Things are going to be ugly in Washington.

I do not like this move very much for a number of reasons.
Not going to get into the list here but just a few small points. Snyder is a fucking moron, in Washington first he blows all the money on all them old guys for the one and 2 year contracts when he took the team, then the Coach Visor experiment which was a total joke. I did not care for the Brunell trade either why wrap up that long term deal for that kind of money on an older qb who has had the tendency to get hurt and miss a couple games a year here and there, and lost his starting job no less to a rookie last year. Ramsey did not do that bad especially given the fact that they announced late in the year that Lav(aint even gonna try and spell it) Coles had a hairline fracture in his foot that he played with since about week 3 or 4, he had NO offensive line, and ZERO running game. So what do wre do about it? Sign a premier RB let our best defensive player go (I know they still have Arrington) grab an aging QB and immediately announce him the starter, and make no attempt to get anything that resembles an O-Line. Way to go Snyder, at least Cuban in the NBA another .com moron owner has a contender on his hands.

I am a native Baltitmorean (Baltimoron) who through a confluence of family and work is required to work in DC and live in the DC suburbs.
I am a diehard Orioles and Ravens fan and have a mild rooting interest in the Capitals and Bullets/Wizards. I feel this gives me an interesting platform from which to view the dynamics of both town's sports and also the dynamic interplay between Baltimore & Washington sports. With all that said, my only comment on the Redskins football decisions is: BBBBBWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! Snyder is the biggest goof to come along since Bob (Make it a Triple) Irsay. Portis' speed will come in handy when he is frantically running backwards to get away from the Defensive Linemen the crumbled O line in front of him has let loose. They may not win 4 games next year.

I feel sorry for Joe Gibbs. What a mess. I don't know what they are thinking. I think we have to give Joe the benefit of the doubt, but so far all their moves seem to have only made the team worse or helped in areas that weren't priorities.
