So a guy died at my local ski area yesterday....
this may make u stop terrain park skiing....
a ski instructer tried a 30 foot long table top jump and pulled a huge 720. He landed 40 feet past the end of the landing. his body crushed and he landed on his face, broke his neck and smashed his face. he was bleeeding out of his eyes and nose etc, and died before they got him off the mountain.. fucked up huh

I don't know where you're at, but there are usually a few skiing deaths each year in Colorado ski areas, too. Ususally, though, someone loses control and smacks into someone else (or a tree) at top speed.

That's pretty sad.
My first time skiing, cruising down the bunny slope at Shawnee Mtn in PA, a guy had a heart attack and died about 50 ft from me. You should have seen the panicked newbie faces around since at the time no one knew it was a heart attack.

my cousin and his friend went skiing with their families... this was when they were both about .... 10-12 i guess... they started skiing, but later got separated, and starting skiing on their own... his friend lost control, fell through a barrier and landed face down and lost consciousness, and died of suffocation... My cousin was so distraught that he refused to go near a ski slope for about 3 years... these accident deaths are always horrible..

i haven't heard of many people dying from terrain park accidents. a couple people have died up here at Mt. Hood this season. one because he skied out of bounds and got lost or something. and the other guy because he went down a double black diamond at full speed and then crashed into an ice wall.
snowboarding, like most outdoor sports, requires you to know your limits, and respect the rules and regulations. if you don't do one, or both of those, the results can be pretty bad. |
