He settled since no one else wanted him. Looks like I'll see Brandon Inge all season again (playing for the Toledo Mud Hens).

maybe pudge can make those young arms in detroit a bit better... maybe a 20 game improvement over last year to get to 99 losses... *sigh*

I agree.

The Tigers win 65-70 games this year and they will have an easier time next year of getting some more talent in Detroit.

It is well known around the country that Illitch spends money and takes care of his players. Once the team has a shot of winning more...more players will come.

Plus a coupel more bad contracts come off the books in the next few years, which will open up even more money for Dom to go out and get better players.

The young pitchers who lost so much next year will each improve by 5-8 games this year because of better offense and defense.

Tigers with pudge completely revamp their up the middle from opening day last year and each addition is so much bigger than what they had last year.

Detroit could be a poor man's version of Florida. Sanchez and Vina will steal bases and Young and Pudge will drive them in. Detroit just needs the young pitching to keep them in the games.

It's good to see he did it for the money. This bullshit about wanting to play for a winner is crap. Money talks bullshit walks they say.

It's not Pudge, it's BorASS, his agent.

Bottom line is money. I've lost all respect I had for Pudge. Holding out teams that actully have a chance to win, and want to win. The Tigers will be sitting at home every october, then we don't have to see some old catcher, with a bad back up there swinging the bat for a world series titles. I'm glad he got his 10mil, rot the rest of your career away.

Nice to see that the Mariners, once again, fail to take advantage of a good situation and better themselves.

THAT's finally over! I still think that the Tigers were being used to try to induce a contender to come across with the long green. No one (Seattle) did so all of a sudden, Pudge LOVES Mike Illitch and Comerica Park's huge power alleys are perfect for his game!

Yep, the Tigers are totally rebuilt up the middle from a year ago. This year we'll find out if Alan Trammell has any Sparky Anderson in him. Anderson took over a very young team in 1979 and had them winning the World Series in 5 years. Can Trammell afford to take that long?

I think the Pudgey one will make the pitchers in D-town better. It wont make them a contender or anything but it will make their team a little more respectable
