TFP Week Three NFL Playoffs Tournament
The tournament is a single elimination format. Here are the match ups for the third week:
2. Sion vs. 3. BonesCPA 4. present_future vs. 9. Minx The games will be picked on winner of each game. The tiebreakers have changed since the regular season, and also since weeks one and two, so please read them carefully. Note that if both players tie on the games, the tiebreakers are taken in order until a winner is decided. You must pick the correct team/score in order to win the tiebreaker - if your pick is “closer” to the tiebreaker than your opponent, but still not correct, the next tiebreaker is used. First Tiebreaker: Highest scoring team of the weekend. You have four teams to choose from. Team name is needed. Second Tiebreaker: Lowest scoring team of the weekend. Team name is needed. Third Tiebreaker: First score of weekend. Pick type of score - there are three choices: touchdown, field goal and safety. You must pick the one of the three and it is for the first points scored in the first game of the weekend. (Do not name a team - name the type of scoring play.) Fourth Tiebreaker: Last score of weekend. Pick type of score - there are three choices: touchdown, field goal and safety. You must pick the one of the three and it is for the last points scored in the second game of the weekend. (Do not name a team - name the type of scoring play.) Fifth Tiebreaker: Total points of all games played on the weekend. Weeks one and two have four games (eight teams) being played. All points of all teams playing is the last number. Closest without going over. If both go over, then the closest. A Mod will close the thread the morning of the first playoff game each week. If you do not have your pick in by the time the thread closes, your opponent will automatically win. (Do not complain if the Mod closes the thread at 12:01 am.) At this point, there is no officially prize other than bragging rights until the first week of the next football season. Finally, since there is the possibility of "unsportsmanlike" picking (matching your opponents picks and just changing the tiebreaker amounts, etc.), we trust in your honesty and sportsmanship in this endeavor. Good luck to all those playing! AFC Championship Game 3:05pm (EST) Sunday January 18, 2004 Indianapolis Colts 14-4 (Road: 8-1) New England Patriots 15-2 (Home: 9-0) NFC Championship Game 6:48pm (EST) Sunday January 18, 2004 Carolina Panthers 13-5 (Road: 6-3) Philadelphia Eagles 13-4 (Home: 6-3)

well, I guess I'll go first.
Indy vs New England: tough call, VERY tough call. Indy has been on fire offensively, while NE is riding a 13 game win streak. Indy is one of the best road teams in the league, while NE is perfect at home. Indy has the superior O, while NE has the superior D. As much as Id like to see Manning advance to the big dance, I just dont think the Colts can oust NE at home. I see the game being very close, but the Pats will prevail at the end. Patriots. Panthers vs Eagles: another tough one to call. both teams have swarming, suffocating defenses with rather pedestrian offenses. I think the X factor here is McNabb. and he should be the difference in a low scoring affair. Eagles. First Tiebreaker: Highest scoring team of the weekend Patriots Second Tiebreaker: Lowest scoring team of the weekend: Panthers Third Tiebreaker: First score of weekend: field goal Fourth Tiebreaker: Last score of weekend: field goal Fifth Tiebreaker: Total points of all games played: 85
