LSU vs USC?
Have you guys read about this? What do you think? I personnally would love to see this game played but I doubt it will happen. What would be so wrong about allowing this game to be played to answer who is the champion in years where there might not be a clear winner??
Here is a link for anyone who hasn't heard. http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/NewsStory...ORTS&oid=41988 |
i'd watch it!, but i think its just a dream at this point.

What they need is for someone to go into the office of Myles Brand with a briefcase and a large, hairy man and say, "Dr. Brand, this is a briefcase full of money, and this is Bubba. If you allow LSU and USC to play for a real national championship, you get the briefcase. If not, Bubba violates your 'NCAA regulations' right on your desk. Choose wisely."
|
You know the schools are up to doing it because of the large scholarship funds!
|
I would love to see it. My bet would be on LSU.
|
Hell. I would love it just so LSU can shut up all those who think they're not in USCs' league and get some respect.I look at some sports websites and all you have is how USC is national champs and no word about LSU.In a LSU-USC match-up I think LSUs' defense would hold USC and win the game,I mean Oklahoma was averaging over 40 pts.a game this year and LSU kept them to 14 pts. They have to get their props for that at least.
|
Thats what the National Championship should have been like... I think LSU would pull it off
|
Well, I give props to Gateway for having the balls for such an offer. It sounds like they have good intentions, and in a perfect world, this would hopefully happen.
Unfortunately, I doubt it will. The NCAA will or already has shit upon it. Plus, I don't know how you can logistically pull off something like this in two weeks. It's an interesting idea, I have to admit. Thinking about it some more, it would be great if it could happen somehow. But, there are 2 champions this year, let's just live with it and move on. Why don't we all just figure out a way to fix the damn system? |
i think it would be a freaking awesome game. and i honestly have no idea who would win. it's a toss up in my opinion.
|
The NCAA should do the one thing that would make it golden right now and save itself from all the BCS controversy that happened this year. Let this happen, but force the money to be split equally and go to scholarships for each respective school.
USC and LSU would almost have to do it if the NCAA approved it, I doubt anyone can imagine the backlash from the fans and the media if one of the schools declined. |
It's funny how any time USC plays in a non-confrence game everyone always talks about how they are "soft" and will get worked. I remeber before the rose bowl how someone one this website talked about how dominated that they were going to be by michigan. Although i think LSU is a great team there offense is nop match for the usc defense in my opinion but i could be wrong.

fucking eh!
I was lucky enough to watch my Cal Bears stick the BCS where the sun don't shine against U$C, but the Condoms ARE impressive. As such, I'd like to take 1 quick moment to bask in my boys destroying (hopefully) the sham that is the BCS
LSU is a great team too. No way in hell should OU have been in that NC game, with their not having won their conference and all... and the fact that of the 3 teams, they were the only ones to get their asses handed to them. Don't give me this "the Pac-10 doesn't have a conference game" shit either--it didn't need 1, with $C knocking off all of the close competition (WSU was #2 in conference). I know that $C knockers say that $C "LOST TO CAL" (I take offense at this being an insult), but this same CAL team is a preseason 10 on SI's list and 11 on ESPN's for next year. K-State kicked the shit out of OU, yet Cal played them well. You can't compare apples to oranges, but you can safely say--I hope--that SC is better than OU. I could see LSU beating $C, but I think that if you play 10 games between the two, SC is gonna come out on top. As everyone has no doubt already pointed out, $C has a much more powerful offense, and while I'll give LSU the nod on D, the gaps between SC's D and LSU's is far less than the gap between the offenses. Leinart is far and away the best QB even though he isn't even the best QB in his own conference, and Mauck doesn't impress at all--even vs. SC's corners. Unfortunately, we'll never know, and that is what blows. Also, I'd like to point out that I am partisan--as are most of the LSU backers that appear to be living on the east coast. Also, I'd like to point out that I can't fucking stand the University of Spoiled Children, that I fear they will be even better next year with their top ranked recruiting class (LSU will be scary too), and that I fucking hope they choke. But I still root for the PAC-10 come bowl time. Maybe next year we'll get that LSU $C matchup. |
usc is dominant in all sports so ill have to go with usc...jeremy
|
???
U$C dominant in all sports? Have you seen your classless basketball team lately--not even shaking hands after a loss? ... and not exactly dominant outside football. |
I would watch the game... I think that USC would win... They put it to michigan and U of M was damn good
|
Who wouldn't watch that game. Should have been the SugarBowl in the first place.
No Question the two best teams in the nation were $C and LSU. |
