Where are all of the LeBron haters now?
I'd just like to ask where all the haters hiding now.....
I've been telling everyone every since I first saw him play as a sophomore that he would be the best player in the NBA one day. I'm just wondering when people are gonna jump on that badnwagon along with me. Anyway, I'm just curious. How surprised are people now that you've had a chance to see him play roughly 30 games. He's the read deal, and nobody can deny it, unless you have no basketball IQ at all. He's been playing unreal ever sice the Cav got rid of that asshole Ricky Davis. He nearly had his first triple double tonight with 32 points 10 boards and 9 assists. He's averaging 20 points 6 boards and 6 assists........ That's better than most all-stars, and he's an 18 year old rookie that came staight outa high school. The Cavs are finally getting their shit together and starting to get some wins. Melo is a great rookie, but he just doesn't have the game and poise that LeBron has. Plus he lit up Paul Pierce for 37 and T-Mac for, I think, 34. After those games those 2 guys both made comments on how great he is and that they can't believe just how good he really is...... Time for everyone else to wake up. |
I'll admit, I had my doubts about LeBron, but now that I have seen him play, they are all erased. This man is the future of the NBA, it's just too bad that he doesn't have that great of a supporting cast to win more games with his team, but he'll eventually get his Championship Ring, no doubt about that this time.
|
I was a hater and I'm proud to admit it. But then when you start checking out his stat line everyday, you see that this kid is a player. I respect him now, plus he's on my fantasy team, so I gotta root for him.
|
Extremely impressive stats, he has shown that he can obliterate stat sheets but we will see if can win consisitanly and, if the cavs can get some talent to him.
|
There was so much hype around him coming into the league that it was hard to really believe he could be that good that quick, especially considering some of the other teenagers that haven't done well in the NBA. Now that he has put up some impressive numbers it is becoming evident that he is the real deal. Melo has done well for the Nuggets, but he also has a better team around him than LeBron does which helps him out.
|
I dont deny the talent just hate what he is already.

yeah, i'm with art here. there's no denying he's a great basketball player, but damn... he's getting way too much attention. He does seem to be more modest than Kobe though, that guy is just an asshole. MJ was a great player with class though, he knew how it was done.
|
ahh... how time flies, its seems like .... .... well, actually, just weeks ago that people were saying LeBron couldnt hit a jumper...

How is it his fault the media is giving him so much attention? He signs endorsment deals, yes, but I don't think thats the attention you are talking about. He got those deals BECAUSE he got a lot of attention before he even started in the NBA. He's a quality team player that is making more money than any of us will ever see, and isn't an elitest prick about it. Kudos to him. |
I saw him play at a HS game in town last year, I knew he'd make it, but it would take some time. I think he'll start to dominate completely in a year or two. His stats will come down by the end of the year, since he won't be so used to the grueling schedule of the NBA. But... he will be dominate.

He is overhyped, simple as that. |

Anyway, hows this for hype? His stats are better than Kobe Bryant and Vince Carter. Those guys may average a point or two more, but he has them both beat in assists and rebounds. That's not hype. That's reality. |
Cavs need him to do more than the Lakers need Kobe.
Vince has been overrated for years now also. Come talk to me in another 30 games and see where he is at. Art |

And what if LeBron's stats stay the same or get better. If you've noticed he just keeps getting better. A month ago he was averaging 16 points 5 boards and 5 assists. He should absolutely be an all-star this year. There aren't 6 guards in the east that are better than him. Hell, I don't think there's 6 guards in the entire NBA that are better him. |
No, there isn't 6 guards better then him, but Melo and LeBron play 2 different positions.
Melo is at 18.7ppg and 6.4rpg, Lebron at 20.2 and 6.0. Lebron plays 5 minutes more a game, he also handle's the ball up the floor. Melo doesn't. Lebron's TO/A ratio is hardly what a top notch point gaurd should be at 1.55. Kidd is around 3. Melo is a SF, he doesn't need to create for everyone else. To say he doesn't have the poise yet to be where the Lebron is is just ludicris, Clevlend has no one else, Lebron has to play well, or they don't win. Melo doesn't have that pressure. Both have they're ups and downs, Lebron turns the ball over alot, Melo can be inconsitent at times. They both will be great NBA players, as far as an All Star, how can Lebron not be? I don't see Melo not having the poise. He doesn't get nearly the media, or the coverage, but he performs when he has to. Both will be great to watch for a long time to come. |
He may turn out to be the best but until the Cavs start winning he will never get the credit he deserves.
|
Allen Iverson, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Kobe Bryant, Baron Davis, Paul Pierce and Tracy McGrady.
I would also argue that players like Mike Bibby and Steve Francis are right there with Lebron right now but they both have a lot more talent and that helps and takes away from their numbers. Art |
Haha, Bibby.
IMO the most overrated guard in the NBA. |
Quote:
LeBron scores more, gets more boards and assists, and steals it more than Francis. Plus he shoots higher percentages. And Bibby isn't even as good as Francis. |

Another fact. LeBron is the only player in the NBA averaging 20 points 6 boards and 6 assists. There isn't a single player in the NBA who is that efficient. So how can you name 6 guards from the Eastern Conference or the rest of the league that are better? His only downside is that he turns it over a lot, but if you've watched all of his games, as I have, you'd notice that they generally happen early in the game, not late. |
I've only seen him a few times, on basic highlights and he does look pretty fucking good. I never doubted him, i was always just excited to see him play, i couldn't care less about hype or if anyone likes him anyway? Also, it's not his fault he is overhyped or whatever, the only reason it became that way is because he's such a good young player?
Although still not too sure about guys skipping college and all and just coming out of highschool. Although i suppose, a lot of the guys who go to college just get degrees in communication or other trivial subject anyway, so it probably doens't make too much difference  Carmello Anthony is damned good as well, pretty much equal with leBron, if not better, cause his team is actually going pretty well and he's one of the main reasons behind it. I'd also like to see TJ Ford at the bucks get some more consistant minutes, cause he's going alright as well. I guess he'll be much better next year though. Damned quick! |
What he is doing is amazing. He is having one of the best years of rookie has ever had and he didn't play in College.
|
I didn't particularly like him before, but I feel that he is as good as he was hyped, maybe even better as time goes on.
|
Comparisons are stupid.
He's the 2nd best guard in the NBA, the only one even close is McGrady (Yes, T-Mac has better numbers in 2 of the 3 category's, the article you quoted his stats from forgot to mention that.) Lebron means the most to his team, and right now, the NBA is riding him like a chariot all the way to the bank. Hate him or not, he's going to be one of the greats. Best rookie season in history, hardly. Magic Johnson had the best rookie season history in 1980. Don't believe me, look it up. |
I really wanted bron to be a flop, and I was disappointed. There just seems to be something wrong with a 19 yr old with $100 milion sitting around. Or maybe I'm jus jealous.
|
I hate him! Only because of jealousy, but I hate him!
.....sorry...... |
Lebron jersey's where sold out everywhere for christmas. He is amazing for only 18 years old.

Let's not get carried away! He's an amazing talent and way ahead of the learning curve for his age and experience, but ahead of Kidd, Kobe, Baron, Starbury already? Not quite. Even the almighty Michael Jordan took a couple of years to fully realize his potential (the right coach and a few high quality teamates helped, too!). LeBron could well own the league soon, but not yet. |

I was one of the many doubters. I don't believe I ever doubted Lebron would be good, but I doubted he would be great. I'm quite impressed how fast he's caught up to speed in the NBA. That still doesn't mean I like him though :). I'm more a 'melo fan.
