Any comments/obervations/___ should've made it/_____shoudlnt have made it?

I'm surprised Boldin made it as a rookie in the league. I havent watched him much, but i've seen the stats the guy has been putting up.

4 cowboys made the pro bowl. i guess we can call this the parcells effect since all of them were there last year and only 1 made it (?).

kiwiman 12-18-2003 07:28 PM

I have no idea about when they usually name the teams, but the playoffs haven't even started yet, right? It's a tad early to be naming the best players.

goddfather40 12-18-2003 07:28 PM

8 Ravens in the Pro Bowl, wow.

I think I heard that is a record.

soccerchamp76 12-18-2003 07:31 PM

Seems pretty decent, 5 of my Rams are on the list. I can't think of any major ommisions.

thephuse 12-18-2003 07:34 PM

ugh... Shockey?.. he hasnt played in the last 3 or so games.. and he hasnt really had a good year before that...

heh.. comparing the AFC WR to the NFC WR makes the AFC look puny...
but AFC has the better RB's :D and Ricky had an off year too :D

Agreed, but AFC have the better QBs (except for NFC having Favre - Where's Garcia?)

thephuse 12-18-2003 07:41 PM

lol ur right.. culpepper is overrated, and mcnabb is overrated (no I'm not racist)

and the AFC has my CHAAAAAAD~~

garcia has sucked ass this year. maybe it's the new head coach or something, but he was even out for a couple of games.

I didn't mean what i said as Garcia has played well, truth be told i haven't payed as much attention to football as i usually do, i just see highlights on Sportscenter.

What about Archuleta? I mean I know he's in the minority of white defensive backs, but he's having a pretty good season.

That's some pretty impressive numbers for any WR, let alone a rookie who plays for one of the worst teams in the NFL.

My main concern is the NFC QBs, one can make a case for Matt Hasselbeck replacing any of the current ones.

Farve has been a great QB over his career, but without Ahman Green, the Packers would've sucked this year. Sorry, but Hasselback had a better year than Farve and probably deserved to go more based on the numbers for this year.

BigGov 12-18-2003 10:36 PM

Again, for the record, Farve doesn't need Green, he needs a decent receiver.

SS Corey Chavous Vikings 8 INTs, 12 pass breakups - Leads the NFL in INT's
FS Aeneas Williams Rams 4 INTs, 8 pass breakups - Has had a great season, makes the Pro-Bowl because Dawkins was hurt for most of the year.
FS Roy Williams Cowboys 2 sacks, 2 INTs - Has the potential to be one of the best ever.

It's easy to see why Archuleta didn't make the pro-bowl. He's had a decent year, but he isn't even in the top 5 safeties this year.

aswo 12-18-2003 10:55 PM

I am suprised Charles Woodson didnt make it on to the pro bowl. and i am very suprised that Dante Culpepper made the team over matt hassleback

TitleFight 12-18-2003 11:08 PM

I think David Thornton got a damn rotten deal out of this. He's been anchoring a much improved Indy D all year long and noone gives him any credit.

Hanxter 12-19-2003 09:33 AM

the Pats got stiffed - the Pats were 11-2-1, 7-0-0 at home and 4-2-1 away against the spread whereas Indy was only 9-4-1, 4-3-0 at home and 5-1-1 away...

where's Tomlinson? - Larry Allen? come on!!!

metrodub 12-19-2003 09:44 AM

How was Tom Brady left off of the AFC roster?? Sure, McNair and Manning are more than deserving of their inclusions, but you could argue that Brady is the better QB when compared to Trent Green. Green's success is due, in large part, to being complimented with one of the game's best RBs (Holmes) and best TEs (Gonzalez). Meanwhile, Brady has had a RB by committee with such stalwarts as Mike Cloud, Antwoin Smith, and Kevin Faulk. Lets not forget the numerous injuries to the receiving corps.

I guess this shows how strong the AFC is this year, but LaDainian Tomlinson not making it is mindblowing. Such a versatile back, he has carried the Chargers all year. But, again, who would you take off the list? Priest Holmes? No. Jamal Lewis? No. Clinton Portis? No. Unreal...

Hass deserves to be there over McNabb who has come on strong late while Hass has slumped but it is a well stated and pointed out fact how many passes let alone TD's the "hawks WR have biffed this year his numbers should be all the more impressive.

SAM821 12-19-2003 09:58 PM

4 dolphins... im actually quite surprised that Jason Taylor didnt make it... and I guess Junior Seau isnt a fan favorite this year cause he didnt make it either... he had a pretty good year...

Vashon 12-19-2003 10:06 PM

Yah Farve should not have made it this year Hasselbeck had the numbers and should have made it. Farve had 20 INTS !!#@!#!

archer2371 12-21-2003 04:45 PM

And where may I ask is Dat Nguyen? That man got snubbed as far as I'm concerned.

Woody182 12-21-2003 05:25 PM

I really don't even care about the pro bowl anymore, it's definitely not even fun to watch. I'd rather watch a "regular" team that has practiced together.

Chemical Smoo 12-21-2003 10:23 PM

I cannot believe Tomlinson got snubbed.:(

he's a first alternate.

thespian86 12-23-2003 09:00 AM

Finally! I think that Favre is the best one out there, he's just plain amazing. Last night i watched him pound the hell out of a broken team but the fact is, his father had died the day before. He stepped up and so did Ahman Green and Javon Walker. Good job on the Nfl's part and with Heap at TE and and Moss at WR the team has a good chance at killing the AFC in offense.

djtestudo 12-23-2003 11:31 AM

Heap plays for the AFC...

Amethyst 12-23-2003 02:35 PM

I would have to agree with present_future about Archuleta.

crewsor 12-24-2003 01:10 PM

Way to go RAVENS. Now to make the playoffs so they can showcase some of that talent.

goppers 12-25-2003 06:45 PM

Dat Nguyen and Rodney Harrison got the snub in my mind. I'm a pats fan, but I can't agree that Brady did. His stats just don't stack up against the QBs that did make it. Poor brady is going to have to be content with super bowl MVP trophys.

monkeydriven 12-26-2003 08:40 AM

Damn, no Dat Nguyen

Minx 12-28-2003 07:23 AM

I would have been a little peeved to have not seen Zack Thomas on the list....and I'm glad that Chad J. made it - he's been hot this season.

ok, im something of a dink for reviving this topic, but on the rare occasion that im right I feel i should. no league mvp, no pro-bowl, but a super bowl mvp. again.... I'm a happy person right now.

Bigt6909 02-04-2004 04:49 PM
