Any Big East hoops fans in here?...

I am a Hoya fan since 1976 (year of my birth) and have had season tickets my entire life. I live out of the area now, but we still have the tickets and all that good stuff. I always like talking about BE hoops. UConn is scary good this year. I think Pitt will be strong again. Nove could be ok. I think Cuse will be good, but nowhere near what they were last year. Notre Dame should not be really bad either.

I can't wait until we get Marquette, Louisville, and Cinci into the conference. Big East will be the best hoops conference by far.

I sheepishly admit to being a supporter of my local team, the St. John's Red Storm (formerly Redmen).

Actually, I went to the Garden last year for the NIT championship (SJU vs. Georgetown). Helluva game, I had a helluva time, and I actually stormed the court after the Red Storm won, and got a hug from their best player (Marcus Hatton). Something to be said for college basketball enthusiasm, even in a crappy tourney like the NIT.

P.S. I went to the Big East tournament last year as well, and I highly recommend any true Big East fan do the same.

Big 12 and the ACC are good, but when those other teams are added, it will not be close in my opinion. The BE is getting rid of two dismal programs and picking up three pretty good ones (two of them have won it all).

The ACC is kind of down lately. Ga. Tech is overrated, and will falter down the stretch. UNC has no depth, and Sean may will get hurt again. Duke is for real. UMD lost two bad games and then won a great one...but they are young and will not be great. UConn, Cuse, Pitt, and ND are all going to be strong this year. I honestly think UConn is the strongest team in the nation.

Celebfan, I went to four BE tourny's in a row in the 90's. Best one was when Ray Allen beat GU in the finals with seconds left. I was heartbroken.

I Love big east hoops. I loved it last year when the bug east took the men's title, the women's title, and the men's NIT. And when Louisville, Cincy and Marquette come to the Big E it's going to be awesome. Im just wondering why we didnt pick up Memphis as well.

BigBlue... ACC down this year? ACC is back this year. With the exception of UNC, all of the ACC teams in the top 10 deserve to be there (but then I've heavily biased against UNC so take my comments with a grain of salt).

The ACC has been excellent out of conference with only a couple of exceptions (Clemson, Duke's loss to Purdue, and State's loss to Michigan). The ACC should have a dominating presence in the NCAA tourney this year.

As far as GT being overrated... perhaps we don't quite belong in the top 5 just yet but I have a lot of confidence in this team. Hewitt is one of the best coaches in the country and he has them believing. The best part about this team is that when one player has a down night, someone else on the team is ready to step it up. Expect this team to do some serious damage in the ACC and in the NCAA tournament. The lack of size will definitely be a factor for them against some teams (luck was definitely on our side against UConn) but overall this team is very dangerous and very well motivated and focuses. Next big games are at UGA and at UNC (first acc game).

GT is prime for a let down but they have stayed consistent thus far, they will lose some close games during the ACC season but don't be surprised when you see this team in the Sweet 16 come spring.
