Saturday night HBO boxing! Klitchsko VS Johnson!
What a complete ass whoopin. I was really surprised to see Kirk Johnson so fat, but it didn't make any difference. I think Vitali sent a clear message to Lewis, either shit, or get off the pot.
He looked good.. My boy Mesi looked decent till he got knocked down, but I really think he's a better fighter then that. It's going to be a nice experience for him. I still expect good things out of him. Hand speed for a 240 pound man is unreal. Klitchsko tonight, that left that stunned Johnson was incredibly fast. He's in the best shape of his career, and it showed. |

Klitchsko has the quickest most accurate punches I have seen from a heavyweight fighter in a long time. He just destroyed Johnson. Actually Johnson just gave up. I'd love to see a Lewis rematch.
And what a friggin mouse on Mesi, made me wince just looking at it. Ouch.

Two really good fights. VK looked awesome. Really confident. Johnson really looked terrible being so bloated. Have to question his desire to walk into a fight that fat.
Mesi was lucky it wasn't a 12 rounder. Started strong then kind of lost his way. |

I thought both fights were somewhat dissapointing. Mesi got tested, and that was good - he needed that. But Kirk Johnson showed us again why he's overrated and lucky to even be in the sport.
Wladimir Klitschko is a far superior fighter than Vitali. If you think Vitali is a hard, accurate puncher, you should see his brother. Just because Cory Sanders knocked him senseless, everyone wrote him off. Well, Cory Sanders hits as hard as Mike Tyson used to. If you doubt it then you haven't seen many of his fights. Vitali needs to be tested. Kirk Johnsom was no test. Kirk Johnson is a pile of underachievement. Neither was Lennox (who was lazy and out of shape, as usual). I still think Wladimir is the man.

I coulden't agree more. But, Vitali looked better against Kirk Johnson then he's ever looked. 250 pounds, cut, throwing huge left hands. His hand speed is every bit of what his brother is now. Pretty remarkable. I really, really home Wladamir does somthing soon. The man is 27 years old, one left hand changed his boxing career forever. No one in boxing could have taken that left hand. I don't get it, Lennox got knocked out, twice. Holyfield, Foreman, all of them, no one discounted them. Klitchsko needs another chance. However, I can honestly see Vitali and Wladamir being the dominant fighters in the division. They will never, ever, ever fight each other, they don't even spar together. |

I missed the fight, but K.J. has a looping style that was made for Klitscho.
Lewis took him far too lightly the first time and won't make the same mistake IF he'll even fight him, as he's still talking about hanging up the gloves, and going out on top ...sort of. If the rematch happens watch for Lewis to have developed his jab into the best that he's ever had as Klitscho's upright style will allow for pot shots, but the down side to that for Lewis is that is just what Klitsco seems to feed off and is a very good counter puncher. If it happens watch for some of the Lewis head butts and be preped for a very good scrap. |

Definitely a great performance for Klitchsko, but his amateurish style is a concern. I didn't see the Lewis fight like the judges, I saw 2 rounds Klitchsko, 2 rounds Lewis, and 2 close rounds that if I had to decide, I would have given to Lewis.
I'd love to see them fight again, but unfortunately I don't think Lewis will do it.... The Mesi fight may turn out to be the best thing for him. Anyone know when Wladimir fights again ???? and... what has Sanders been up to lately ???? |
