Year in and year out it doesn't get much tougher than the Big 12 (10 + the other two).

SEC
best conference in college sports = best conference year after year after year after year. ACC only ever has one team in football in any given year (FSU usually) Big 10 is a close runner up to the SEC (maybe even a tie because big 10 has bomb hockey) Big 12, umm rodeo riding and roping steers arent college sports, sorry. Big East...yeah, thats funny. MAC...a comer, but too young to be 'the best' PAC 10, very good, but not 'the best' |

and dont come and tell me that maryland and wake are great football teams, and that the ACC deserves more respect. yeah, i respect that they waved cash at VaTech and Miami to build a better football conference...before 2004, ACC blows. period
and i know the dude will take exception to my big 12 comments... i admit the big 12 is a competitor year in and year out, but still not 'the best'. spare me the trolls. |

If your talking about overall College sports then it is the pac 10 not only do we have the top ranked football team in the country, but we have a very good mens and womens basketball, national champions almost every year in soccer, tennis track and field just to name a few.

PAC-10 football is a bit of a sham though. The league top to bottom is just not that strong. I'll give you stuff like water polo, but the Big 12 and SEC are generally the tops for all sports. Big 10 is in there as well, but they lack in some of the lower end sports.

Top to bottom, Pac 10 has the best sports programs. Last year seven of the programs were in the top twenty for the Sears Cup and Stanford won it for something like the ninth strait time.
