Tuesday Morning QB LIVES!!!!

So I open NFL.com today, and what do I see ?

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/6865197

Oh yes! I know several people here enjoyed his collumn on Page2 before they canned him for saying some stupid sutff (on a completely unrelated matter and website mind you), but now looks like he found a new home on NFL.com now.

Sweeeeeet!!

djtestudo 11-26-2003 04:26 PM

All I can say here is to quote a legend and say: "Woo-Hoo!"

BadForm 11-27-2003 04:09 PM

Considering the cause of his departure from ESPN and the relationship between the NFL and ABC/ESPN I was suprised to see his column reappear on NFL.com. I guess everyone realized that what he said wasn't worthy of the reaction.

I've always thought TMQ thinks he is a little smarter than he really is, but I still liked reading him. But why did he get canned?

Spartak 11-28-2003 01:59 AM

While reviewing Kill Bill he made some quip about the producer being greedy and Jewish, ESPN didn't like it and gave him the can.

I think they mainly did it because of the whole Rush Limbaugh thing, if they didn't fire him, people could say "Ooooh double standards" etc etc.

Anyway, I love his collumn, best read on a Wednesday morning ever.

djtestudo 11-28-2003 01:10 PM

Actually, he made that quipe about both the producer and MICHAEL EISNER. Most people tend to avoid pissing off their boss with ethnic slurs...

i think page 2 didn't give a good enough explanation on why tmq was gone. I just surfed on one wednesday and im reading "Tuesday Morning Quarterback is no longer available on Page2" i didn't feel it was a good enough explanation.

Probably got some help from Rich Eisen at NFL Network in landing at NFL.com. Helps to have connections. :D

Begora21 11-30-2003 01:54 PM

He actually made some pretty awful comments. I used to like TMQB, but found it getting pretty tiresome lately, so I didn't miss it much.

Spartak 11-30-2003 07:37 PM

That "article" twists his words beyond belief btw.

MikeyChalupa 12-01-2003 07:18 AM

The NFL has a good working relationship with the ABC empire, but NFL.com is associated with CBS, not ABC.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time. I missed that guy and his cheesecake.

I'm so happy, I just wish I would have seen this earlier!

Jadey 12-01-2003 10:07 PM

That used to be some of my most anticipated online reading every week. I really helped the Tuesday afternoons at work go by a little quicker.

dy156 12-03-2003 01:41 PM

it seemed to be tamer than it used to be about Redskins Owner (Lord Valdemort) and network affiliates choosing stupid games, wonder what working for the NFL itself had to do with that???

djtestudo 12-03-2003 02:03 PM

Well, he's probably learned not to piss off his bosses ;)
