Hmmm who is available?
There is Lovey Smith, Def Coordinator for the St. Louis Rams. He's getting alot of looks. There is Nick Saban. Saban has made no bones about his desire to jump to the NFL. He has no buyout at LSU, which would make him easy to swallow. Will want Butch Davis-type dollars. Saban has been mentioned in Miami and Chicago. Carolina's Defensive Coordinator, Mike Trgovac, is a wildcard candidate for some people. I've read that his system is better than Del Rio's, and that he is considered more of a "players coach." Dennis Green will get a job this year. There are just to many openings potentially out there, and there seems to be a reluctance to assume success at the college level means success at the pro level. Green is the ultimate free agent - he has no ties anywhere, and there may be a bidding war for her services. And, The Dude, from what I've read Stoops is quite happy in Oklahoma. |

perripken, i feel you brother, williams has GOT to go.
at the bar i go to to watch the games, i suggested to a buddy that we root for the chiefs to win it all, then dick can leave kc and install his 3 year plan in buffalo. the whole place seemed to like the idea! or how about we fire gilbride and williams, promote lebeau to head coach (i know i know, sounds shady, but stick with me here), bring back wade phillips (!) as d-coordinator...anybody know if norv turner is leaving miami any time soon? i saw a lot of him when he was head coach of the local Redskins, he's an excellent offensive mind, it just never showed with the woeful Skins... actually, i don't really care who they bring in as long as it's not williams. i used to be a big supporter, but then he and gilbride try to pull shit like that henry flea flicker (interception in the red zone, remember?) and a fake punt somewhere along the way...ugh it's just messy. also under consideration...and believe me i am truly hurt to even be saying it...but what about drew? aside from the play calling (which i know is a big thing to just cast aside), he's been one of the loose parts of the team. i mean i know when he's on he's ON (see first 4 games of the season) but when he's off...he gets hammered, which i know is the line's fault, but he has NO VISION. he simply can't get rid of the ball, it's like he's losing all his pocket presence, and he repeatedly throws into double coverage. while i'm ranting, i might as well mention the problems mcgahee is going to cause. why why why did they pick an inevitable controversy over an o-lineman?? ok i get the whole "he was the best player available line". but why not trade him? i love travis, why would they do that...don't get me wrong, i will be all over the willis bandwagon if/when he explodes...hopefully travis will finish strong and be good trade bait, if that's the admin's train of thought, so we can get a fucking line...it's so frustrating being a bills fan...especially after a 12-10 loss to the texans' backup qb... i hope moulds doesn't get fed up and leave. or takeo! he's the heart of the defense...if we had this defense last year it'd be money...but no...there is no joy in buffalo.... |
