Outdoor Commonwealth Game (Hockey)
Well I'm sure all you canadians are going to be watching this game and me being in MN I'm also very excited about the game. Really though, I hope it will be televised down here but if not, do any of you folks have a tv tuner card and would be willing to at least somehow save the game and transfer it amongst us TFP'ers? Anyhow, looking forward to the game.

I think this is a brilliant idea. I admit that I usually don't watch NHL until the playoffs, but I'm really looking forward to this.
I hope Messier will finally get permission to play in the reunion game.

I believe the game and the legends game will be televised on ESPN Classic live here in the States.
By the way, this isn't the first outdoor NHL game of any type, it is the first outdoor regular season game. The LA Kings played an outdoor preseason game vs. the Rangers at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in the early '90s.

I'll be looking forward to seeing Gretzky play again. And I think the outdoor game is a fabulous idea but I don't like the fact that Toronto wants to hold an outdoor game @ Skydome. Not a big Toronto fan to be honest, not so much the players but just the management in general.
Was it Michigan that held the more recent outdoor hockey game? I think all the people that put that together should get a ton of credit for the game happening tomorrow because without that success, I don't think the NHL would've put this game together.

For those of you who missed the game, you didn't miss much. 30 minutes with only 2 goals - both for Edmonton by Mcsorely and Linseman. Fuhr and Ranford were both great though. I was hoping to see Gretzky and Lafleur net a few, but, as you can see, they didn't. The game only sped up in the last couple of minutes, when the Canadiens attempted to tie up the game, unsuccessfully.
So, basically, don't be dissapointed about mising it - nothing much really happened.
