Nah, I missed it Docbungle.
I heard Barrera lost just about every round though. Barrera is only thirty, but he has had sixty plus professional bouts. He's quite possible an old thirty. Still, Barrera deserves to be considered one of boxing best. He needs a nice performance next time out. I hope his next major fight is against Morales or Marquez. Finally, who is to say that Manny Pacquiao isn't the real deal? Again, you saw him fight, not me, but when a fighter dominates another fighter that we know is good, then some respect should be given. Pacquiao has an impressive resume, its just that he has been fighting south of featherweight, which gets about as much attention as the Brewers/Tigers series last year. |

Yeah, Pacquiao is obviously a great fighter. Unfortunately, due to the sport being controlled by the TV networks, not a lot of people have seen him before. They will now.
Taking nothing away from Barerra. He's had a great career. But there's always someone out there with your number. I think Pacquiao would also more than likely beat Morales, if they were to fight.

One of the BEST fights you've seen in a while? Are you kidding me? The only thing entertaining about the fight was watching one of the best pound for pound fighters in boxing get his ass kicked, nothing else about the fight was even good. =/ It wasen't even a fight. More like a one-sided school yard brawl. I guess my definition of a good fight is vastly different..
I've had more fun watching grass grow. Thanks god De La Hoya's promotional events are all HBO and not PPV, heaven forbid I'd pay for somthing like that. Last edited by Kurant; 11-18-2003 at 10:35 PM.. |

Uh...thanks for your input Kurant.
And yes, I thought it was very entertaining. It's always a huge suprise to see the top fighters tumble. Like Mosley vs Forrest. And Forrest vs Mayorga. And Tyson vs Holyfield. And the list goes on and on. The fact that the fight bored you doesn't suprise me though. I simply love boxing, and I take the good with the bad. It was action from beginning to end. I thought this fight was much more entertaining than the Roy Jones/Antonio Tarver fight, in which there was virtually no action, unless Jones backed up against the ropes. After that, there hasn't been a really good televised fight since Mayorga/Forrest.

Dec. 13th, I'm looking foward to that though. And the 6th, a guy I told my best friend over 2 years ago when we saw him fight in Buffalo, would make it someday, Joe Mesi! I wanna see Kirk Johnson get put down too. |

Kirk Johnson is way lucky to even be on TV. I hope Vitali owns him so we don't have to watch his boring ass anymore. And I agree Mesi is a very exciting fighter. I hope he can show some endurance, as he hasn't been tested yet at all.

I agree, I don't like watching Johnson fight either, it's worse then Lennox.............. Ok, maybe not THAT boring.
Then again... Yeah, me and my best friend were in Buffalo about 2 years ago, April of last year fight a guy by the name of McKnight (Can't remeber is first name, i'll post it if it comes to me) and completely beat his ass, TKO in the 5th or 6th. Mesi was quick, cut, just had pretty awsome hand speed for a Heavywheight. I told him if this guy ever gets with the right trainer, gets some fights on TV, he'd get there one day. Your right about the endurance though, I think he's only been past the 6th twice in his career. |
