The future stars of college football...

well, as we all know the Hurricanes offense is subpar, but after watching a true freshman Tyrone Moss single handedly getting us a victory against Syracuse today, It made me curious, who are the stars of tomorrow...

So i guess i will start it off by saying Tyrone Moss, Remember his name, He should be another one of the many great miami running backs, a sure starter next season. He gained 91 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown in a little over a quarter of football today, thats pretty amazing (considering the weakness/inexperience of miami's O-line).

who's next...

The_Dude 11-15-2003 08:45 PM

Vince "the man" Young.

Vince > Michael Vick.

How could you post this after Chance Mock had to save his ass?

The_Dude 11-15-2003 09:00 PM

hey, nobody has perfect games.

he just didnt have his top performance on today.

he's 7-0 as a starter now.

and u saw how he ran over OU.

Hahahahaha, I hope that was a joke:crazy:

The_Dude 11-15-2003 09:06 PM

15 rushes for 145 yards = 9.7 yds/carry. and oh yeah, a touchdown too. :D

Yeah but most of that yardage came on a few big runs.

phyzix525 11-15-2003 09:27 PM

Well a young reciever I like is Santanio Holmes, a freshmen at Ohio st. He has stepped in for Drew Carter and really has shown himself as a force to be recond with.

The_Dude 11-15-2003 09:37 PM

Also, Larry Fitzgerald (spelling?). That boy is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

djtestudo 11-15-2003 09:40 PM

Josh Allen. Will be the greatest running back in Maryland history. Has the power to break free of anyone, and the speed to outrun them.

Rudel73 11-16-2003 05:51 AM

Casey Paus from Washington

He came in a few games ago and just lit everything up in place of Cody Pickett. Everyone at washington is talking about how good of a QB this guy is going to be. Watch for him!!

and The_Dude stole my other answer of Vince Young, either him or Marcus Vick will be the most highly recruited NFL QB's...heck they probably both will be when their time comes!

gov135 11-16-2003 06:09 AM

Vince Young just OWNZ! Hold on kids, he hasn't been put in a position to lose yet. He has all the skills, but he hasn't yet put it all together in a game that is bigger than Texas/Baylor. Vince Young doesn't deserve Michael Vick comparisons till he learns the forward pass.

Next years stars:
Fitzgerald, as The Dude mentioned.
Roethlesberger, QB, Miami OH
Justin Zwick, QB, Ohio State
Moss, RB, Miami Fl
Leak, QB, Florida - very impressive so far
Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota

Of, course, this is all a crap shoot. Just my opinion.

Let me add the OU freshman class for next year. Enough said.

SSJwrestler 11-16-2003 10:29 AM

The "AD" Adrian Peterson. hehe.

Shpoop 11-16-2003 04:37 PM

like gov said, chris leak

wow hes good and hes only a true freshman

AL9045 11-16-2003 05:06 PM

I think this topic should be the future stars of college basketball considering the basketball season is beginning.

SAM821 11-16-2003 05:22 PM

well, being that it is coming towards the end of the football season we can see what some of the younger players have done, and kind of look foward to the future

SAM821 11-16-2003 05:26 PM

i was speaking of the freshmen players, true freshmen or redshirt freshmen who have shown there potential.... you cant predict that at the beginning of the year

WarWagon 11-16-2003 05:42 PM

Not a freshman, but AJ Hawk of OSU.

Jesus Malverde 11-17-2003 11:24 AM

Josh Swogger of Wahington State. He kicked our ass (ASU) on Saturday, and he's a true freshman. Look for that name in a couple of years, he's in the pass happy pac-10 (Jason Gesser had good stats and he sucked) so he'll put up some bigass numbers in his career.
Vince Young is a hell of an athlete, but he might end up being labeled like chris sims if he can't beat OU.
I hate florida, but I have to say Leak is a winner. I don't know about Tyrone Moss, but Larry Fitzgerald has proven himself for 16 straight games (TD's in every one). If you could leave as a soph, NFL teams would be fighting over him in April.
No one has mentioned MARCUS VICK? He may not have put up pretty stats this year, but he should definitely be mentioned in next years stars. He looked cool and collected against Miami, thats for sure.

archer2371 11-17-2003 06:18 PM

Watch Ahmad Brooks out of UVA for a sleeper future star, this guy has the talent to be one of the best Linebackers ever.

SAM821 11-17-2003 06:36 PM

Ryan Moore, WR, Miami, (redshirt Freshmen and only reciever we have besides winslow)

Devin Hester WR/KR, Miami, (TRUE freshmen, did anyone see that kickoff return against UF to open the game? that bullet flying by was him)

Damnyankee 11-19-2003 06:53 AM

Shawn Breaston, Michigan reciever/punt returner! This weekend IF Ohio State punts to him, check him out!!

bobw 11-19-2003 06:25 PM

I've got to agree with The_Dude on this one... Vince Young !!!
