What QB am I to play this week?
Who is the best for me to play in FF this week?
I have Flutie@Den, Kitna vs KC, and Ramsey@Car Bledsoe vs Hou and Rattay vs Pit are sitting in the free agent pile. I can get one of them to play this week if I need to. What do I do? I'm having a hard time picking. To me Flutie looks to have a tough week, and Kitna and Ramsey mediocre. Bledsoe is against a team that gives up alot of ff points to QB and Rattay could have a damn good game against Pitt, or not they seem to be getting better. What do I do.... |
Bledsoe.
Watch him light up the Texans' D, imo. |
100% Agreement with Spartak.
|
No question here, Tim Rattay. The Pittsburgh secondary is atrocious, and I'm convinced Rattay is the real deal. Owens may not be 100%, but Tai Streets has stepped up and Brandon Lloyd is starting to show why he was drafted.
Bledsoe could be a bad pickup because of the opponent. The Texans weakness on defense is against the run and if the Bills get the lead early (like they should), they'll stay on the ground and work the clock. Besides, Bledsoe has played horribly for several weeks in a row now, there's no reason to expect him to turn things around this week. Not only is Bledsoe putting up weak passing numbers, but he's also turning the ball over. He is getting no pass protection and Moulds may still not be 100% healthy. |
The secret to beating Carolina is via the air. They are excellent against the run, but horrible against the pass. With that in mind, I wound not start Ramsey. Ramsey could tear them apart, but with the way he's been beaten up by the lack of protection, he could end up getting injured. If Ramsey gets enough time to throw, he could be dangerous in that game, but I personally wouldn't start him in fantasy football because that's a huge "if" with that offensive line.
Houston has given up the most passing TDs this year. The numbers support Bledsoe for this game, but I'm not really sure about any of those QBs for this week. |
Ok, I just checked and I can get Quincy Carter and Jake Delhomme this week as well.
Would either of those be a safer bet? This is a make or break week. I am tied for second place with 5 other guys in my league. I clawed my way up from a pretty bad deficit. A win would be very important here. My opponent isn't exactly stout, but I still want to make a good showing. I've been top point earner two of the past 3 weeks. I have everything locked now except for a QB. And I just can't decide. |
I would go with delhomme
he had a hell of a game last week dont go with cater |
Bledsoe has to turn it around sooner or later..........The Texans are the team to get him out of this slump..........
|
Definitely Bledsoe.
He is a good quarterback, and on a level above the others. The fact that Bledsoe is on waivers surprises me, and if it were my team I would drop Ramsey and pick up Bledsoe for good. The Redskins schedule doesn't get easier from here on out, and in terms of which quarterback is better, I'd have to say go with Bledsoe. He is a better and more consistent quarterback. |
People overlook Kitna...he's had a solid year
|
I have been playing kitna much of the year. He has had a good year without a good RB. With Rudi tearing through and eating up all the ball time, Kitna's stats have dropped.
|
not sure 'bout Joe Kitna... but I'd definitely play Jon Kitna!
:D :D :D |
id say bledsoe just cause hes due but ive been saying that all year, at this stage the qb less likely to succeed so Id say pick someone obscure from the waivers...
|
Bledsoe has been sucking ass lately.
Go with anyone but him. |
Seriously, I would really go with Rattay this week. Bledsoe is a risky pick. The Buffalo offense is in shambles and it all starts with Gregg Williams.
But, if you are looking for someone to hold on to for the rest of the season, Bledsoe would be the wiser pick, merely because he will continue to play (barring injury). One bad game and Flutie could lose his job to Brees (the supossed QB of the future in SD). There's always the possibilty Ramsey could be knocked for the season with the horrible pass protection he's getting in DC. Rattay will go back to the bench when Garcia is healthy (next week?) Kitna could wind up on the bench if the Bungles find themselves out of the playoff hunt. They'll want to get a look at what they have in Palmer eventually. Carter has a tough shedule coming up. However, Delhomme could be a sleeper. Plus he has a cupcake schedule to close out the season. His last 3 games are against Atlanta, Detroit, and Arizona. He's playing Washington this week so, he could be a decent pick. I'd probably pick him up before Bledsoe. Good luck with whatever you decide. |
Don't go with Ramsey, his line isn't blocking for him, and against the Panthers line he will be pounded, very frequently, and very often.
Kitna, meh, he won't do great, he won't do that bad, he's just meh. Bledsoe is a good guess, but the strength of the Texas is the defense, that's all they got. So you have a young wild team, and a wild coach. Not an ideal condition. Rattay, a decent choice, the Steelers are doing pretty horrible as of late. Delhomme is a horrible choice. He'll be going up against two great corners, the linebacking core from hell, and he'll have Stephen Davis back, meaning fewer passes. Quincy, meh, see Kitna. Flutie though, he's hot, he performs well, and he creates plays better than anyone else on the list. I'd go with Flutie. |
Well, I just picked up Matt Hasselbeck in a late trade for Patrick Ramsey.
So my QB question is over for this week I believe. I'm holding onto Kitna who does a solid, but far from stellar performance every week and Flutie because he may turn out to be a second half wonder. |
Ramsey is actually a surprisingly good choice against the Panthers who rank in the bottom 10 for passing defense.
Up to you though. |
Wow, Haselbeck for Ramsey huh? Hasselbeck has some really mathups the rest of the season. That's a pretty good deal, and Hasselbeck is better than any of the other QB's you were considering.

So, no I didn't see him get rocked. |
Right, and that's cause Spurrier gave up the defense to his O Coordinator.
Good decision. Ramsey will start doing better, He's an awesome qb behind a questionable o-line and head coach unfortunately. I think I got a better deal on Hassel though. |
