I just got back from the game.... It was a tough loss.... too many turnovers, its tough when you are in the redzone and either you kick a field goal and/or turn it over.... It was a good defensive game, but i still think miami beat themselves with STUPID turnovers, all those damn penalties didnt help either....
I have come to realize that Miami just isnt as good as they have been the last few years (i was hoping that last week was a fluke, but i was wrong).... i will be positive and hope that we can win the big east (with some luck from Pitt tonight) and we can still get in a BCS bowl.... tough year, tough two weeks.... Still proud to be a Cane |

Did anyone just see the interview with Winslow? What an asshole he is and showing it now. You shouldn't say on national tv that you are glad you injured another player and you definitely shouldn't be saying Fu** the other team either. This isnt a time to compare yourself to a soldier with so many people dying in Iraq either, and better yet here is what he said, "I am a F'n soldier." It's just unacceptable imo. Let the excuses begin from Miami.

Winslow is outspoken, no question about that, maybe cause his daddy is a hall of famer, or maybe cause he's the best at his postion an he knows it.... Im NOT sticking up for him, but when he said soldier, i dont think it had any relevence to an actual US soldier.... more of a "hip hop" type of thing.... get over it... a lot of people dont like what he says, i dont care what he or anyone else says, he didnt hurt anyone, actions on the field speak louder than what is said off the field .....you must be a Tennessee fan, since you are from Knoxville, you guys won, who gives a shit what the guy says, again I DO NOT think what he said was great nor do i feel it was 100% acceptable, but it doesnt warrant such criticism.... get over it already.... whats bigger is miami lost... why dont you dissect why that happened, and how bad miami sucks....
(i am in no way saying this because he is from miami and i am a canes fan, i really am not showing bias, i just dont really care much for "off the field bullshit" unless its something serious... not someone venting) No excuses needed.... |

What Winslow said was classless, and demonstrated a remarkable ignorance of the world around him.
One would hope that someone who has been raised with the opportunities he has would have taken advantage of them, and have a more educated view of college football and its proper place in society. I'll chalk it up to youth - and won't alter my opinion of him. But someone needs to take him aside and have a talk about losing with dignity. |

He's immature.... i just saw the interview, it was immaturity on his part, classless, perhaps, but i think it has to do with an immaturity level rather than classify someone as ignorant and classless.... i do agree that his mentality is a bit "spoiled", but i just think he needs to grow up a bit.... what can i say, he's a soldier.... (sarcastically, of course)

Miami - don't let the doorknob hit you where the Dark Lord split you. Good fucking riddance, even if all the one-loss teams lose again. I'm not a Tennessee fan, but I was pulling hard for this upset. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving set of assholes.

Winslow has spent too much time with Jeremy Shockey, apparently. So now he's overrated AND an asshole.

SAM821, All Miami does is give excuses when they get beat. Last week it was very obvious when Coker compared what VT did to them (chop-block) to what happened with the Ohio State player (choking incident). There is not a comparison, because last time I checked you could live without your legs but defintely not survive without being able to breath (almost crushing the guys windpipe). Miami for the most part are classless and will offer up excuses for not being able to win. This time it was Winslow saying it was the refs not letting him celebrate after a play. If you want an on-field example, how about when Winslow hurt our safety Campbell with a block and then after the play he walked over and taunted him. Still not classless enough for you to admit that their team are just crybabies?

djtestudo, i dont think we are talking about the same winslow, he maybe an asshole, but overrated he definitly is not, he'll be a top 5 pick, and starting his rookie year, he's probably in the top 5 or 10 tight ends in the nation, including NFL.... again, i think his arrogence comes from immaturity.... time will tell...
b1naryb0r1s - i was at the game, and watched him lay out not one but two players on the same play, i think he was just celebrating that (it was a great block), not that he hurt someone, but then again, what he said in the interview is questionable, (i still think it was immaturity on his part), a perfect example is when samuels from FSU layed out Roscoe Parrish, the whole FSU team celebrated, i dont think they celebrated cause they hurt parrish, they were celebrating the hit, I HATE FSU, but im not showing any bias saying that they were classless, and assholes for celebrating the hit, i think sometimes people read too much into some things that happen.. thats all... those penalties (most of them anyway) were ridiculous, the holding were SOOOO bias, i was watching both O-lines the whole game and saw tennessee holding plenty of times, but whatever, the outcome is what it is, they lost... thats it, there is no excuses the way miami's offense played. PLUS, i dont think coker is making excuses, his reasons for the losses were two things, penalties and turnovers... where are the excuses? what, the dirty play from VT? thats just what he feels.... he never made excuses on why his team lost except for turnovers, thats what did him in... everyone is entitled to their opinion, this is just mine... |

maybe.... maybe not.... maybe it was cause the refs were from the SEC?... it doesnt matter anymore, they lost, we move on...
On a positive note, if we win out, we win the Big East and go to a BCS bowl, I dont even know if the offense is good enough to beat Pitt though.... but there is still hope for some success this season... |

Anyone know why they have the refs from the visiting teams conference come to officiate? They could be at least split 50/50 and avoid such bias if it does occur, but then again you could have some type of conflicting interests I dont know about.

about the refs... i guess the NCAA feels that since its an away game they will bring refs from the away teams conference to "even" it out, thats bullshit though, i think the refs are more of a factor in the game then home field advantage.... especially in college football where there isnt instant replay....
how many more losses.... Miami WILL NOT lose again, they are changing QB's, and my thinking is, miami is as bad as they can possibly be on offense, and they are still a good team, so they cant get any worse.... Its all about turnovers... Crudups gonna be the start for the rest of the season, (most likely) so i think he brings our running game up a bit, which might take some pressure off the passing.... i think we will win out and go to a BCS bowl... after that, i dont know what will happen, depends on who we play... |

I am DEFINITELY going to agree with you on the college officials. Did you see the OSU/Mich. St game? I was sitting in the perfect spot during all of those BS plays, and then watched them later on TV, and they were terrible. How one ref can make a BS interference call at the end of the play when he is in NO position at all to make the call is beyond me. Not to mention the "incomplete pass" at the end of the game...
