International Rules
By this I mean the International rules matches between Ireland and Australia they have every year (cross between gaelic and australian football). It was a great game with Australia down by 14 at 1/4 time absolutely dominating the second half, with 3 goals (their most in a half, let alone a whole game). The crowd and the players were really into it, specially after the game when the aussies were celebrating. The only bad thing about the game was matty scarlett took out that desi dolan guy (their star player), and there were a couple of illegal hits by the aussies, which could make Ireland apprehensive in commiting to play again in the years to come.
Anyone else watch this? |

yes, i watched this last night, but i fell asleep in front of it... (strenuous 1 hour day at uni makes me very tired)
i saw up to the Matty Scarlett biff ... from what i saw, the Irish are bloody good at this style of game... perhaps more of them will be tempted by the big dollars to play in the AFL like Targh Kenelly (sp?). i doubt the Irish will back down just because the Aussies play rough... if anything, that´ll just serve to fire them up and so they thrash us next time.

Yep i saw it from half time onward. Was a really cool game. It was fun watching the small irish guy trying to bustle with barry hall.
Irelands ball skills were so much better than the aussies, namely just kicking the ball. Although australia have better fitness and also toughness. Should be entertaining fo the rest of the series though |

I would love to be there, Didnt get to see the game live on Friday. Just caught the highlights.
It is a pity more countries dont get involved, and see what a good hard hitting fast sport is really like.I guess they dont have any games that need such skillful players. If we get beaten there this year it will be the first time we lost a series in Aussie soil. Your guys may be fitter and harder but our guys are all amatures, and are still able to put it up to your lot.... so bring it on
