At least they waited till he broke the post season strikeout record.:D

SiphonX 10-23-2003 09:41 PM

ahh yes... and Giambi too, though this actually makes sense, seeing as Nick Johnson is the better post-season player.

petergriffin24 10-24-2003 06:06 AM

that is hilarious I flipped the game on briefly and saw Soriano in the outfield and they were talking about him being the future centerfielder of the Yankees. Now I ask this does he even have a good arm to throw people out?? And more importantly do I even give a shit because I hate the Yankees with every fiber of my being??

bond007 10-25-2003 08:29 PM

Soriano = trade bait.

djtestudo 10-26-2003 09:32 AM

I heard a rumer of him to KC for Beltran. Win-win for both teams.

Soriano should be sitting down along with Giambi. Anyone who goes multiple games 0-4 (mostly all strikeouts) shouldn't be playing. When the Yankees got Giambi, they thought they were going to be getting a consistant power hitter...only time he showed up was when he hit the two solo homers against the Red Sox.

lions20 10-27-2003 01:42 PM

Soriano sucks he swings at every pitch. He was definitely a help for the marlins though he was a guaranteed out everytime.

yankeefatboy 10-27-2003 04:29 PM

You guys are all right. Soriano and Giambi rank right up there with Bonds, Garciaparra, and all the others who failed in the post season. Heaven forbid you give the Marlins their due. As long as the Yankees lose, jump on the "bash the Yankees bandwagon". Let me quess, you're all Dodger fans or Red Sox or any other mediocre organization's fans.

djtestudo 10-27-2003 08:36 PM

Um...did you WATCH either of those guys attempt to hit in the series? I'd rather have Roger Clemens at-bat in a critical situation then those two.

Soriano is a good athlete, but is in the wrong spot, both offensively and defensively. Put him in center to take advantage of his speed, and bat him 4-5 to hide the fact that he has Rob Deerian plate discipline, and you have a winner.

Giambi is looking bad. He could never play D well, and now has that knee problem that gives him the range of Babe Ruth's corpse. He seems to be trying too hard to hit homers, and is about a half-season away from doing the full Jeff Weaver/Bobby Bonilla and not talking to anyone short of the woman on the phone-sex line.

fishin 10-31-2003 05:12 PM

why do you guys hate the yankees so much? is it jealousy?

b1naryb0r1s 11-03-2003 02:36 PM

Its not that I am hating on the yankees, in fact I am a Yankee fan. <hears groaning in the background> At the time I was just upset about how Soriano had performed in the post season, which was less than stellar, albeit most players do go through slumps and the yankees made it to the World Series as a team. I hope Steinbrenner keeps both of them now, and perhaps Soriano will practice selective swinging in the off-season.
