Soccer players: Whats your position?
 

I think what position you play in soccer usually says something about the type of person you are. Personally Im a midfielder through and through. I prefer the wing but only if there is a good central midfielder to feed me. If my team has no good distributers in the middle I prefer the middle. There is nothing worse than spending 90 minutes sprinting that side line only to never see the ball because they arent good enought o get it to you. Anyway enough about me. How about averyone else?

Well, back in the day, I used to play goalkeeper. My coach used to say that in order to play goalie, you had to be at least half crazy. I proved him right one day when I ran face first into the goalpost, knocking myself out and chipping a tooth. I made the save though!

I play forward i used to play wing but i just liked up front better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first started playing soccer I was a keeper. Eventually, I got moved out to the fullback or sweeper postion depending on the set up. I played that postion for a few years in middle school. Then my high school coach chose to put up me front as a wingman because I was the fastest sprinter on the team and I could cross the ball better than most people on the team. Eventually I got moved to half-back, I wanted to play defense and coach still wanted me involved in offense.

Ever since then I've pretty much been a half-back when ever I play any soccer game.

i played striker for most of my soccer playing days at school.
in my last year i moved back to centre mid, and had more success in that position.

Im a midfielder/winger. Ive had to adopt my play of late for playing out wide, cause we play 4 across the middle. Psycologically speaking, goalkeepers are the strangest breed of humans i know.

back in the younger leagues i was mostly a forward. then one season i got moved to sweeper. after that i played midfield most of the time. and during all of this i was the goalkeeper parttime.

but in high school i just played midfield or occasionally as a forward.

Sweeper back in highschool, now in college we play in a city league, co-ed, got some fine females on our team that know how to kick the old football around. Im playing wing now, thought I'd try something new.

I put down sweeper but what I really like to do is sit in front of a back four, tackle and distribute the ball to the other midfielders/strikers.

When i played i was goalie, my ribs were bruised alot.. diving on the ball and such and this was back when i was 6 or 7. I didn't let in many goals though because i'd get the ball before they could shoot it.. heh
