ACC football divisions
not sure if this is only for football, but here are the ACC division alignments. Each team will play its division opponents, a primary rival in the opposite division and two cross-divisional games against rotating opponents.
Division A: BC, Clemson, FSU, Md, NC St, WF. Division B: Duke, Ga Tech, Miami, NC, Va, Va Tech. Cross-divisional rivalries: BC--Va Tech Clemson--Ga Tech FSU--Miami Md--Va NC St--NC WF--Duke looks like FSU-Miami could soon be playing twice a year! |
It's for football only, at least for now.
Still can't figure out why they can't do geographical divisions. |
yeah, the logical thing would be to split them divisions on geography, but i guess they wanna have 'em balanced.

I like the "rivalry game" concept for the cross-divisional matchups. Too bad the Big XII didn't take the same approach, and keep the OU-Nebraska game an annual affair.

I would move either Miami or VT into the other division. You shouldn't have those two powerhouses in the same division.
Also consider that division B would almost always win the ACC championship game given this lineup. |
Umm, you realize that FSU is in Division A right?
The way it's set up, Division A has the most competition. Division B has the raw power. |

I think the divisions are evenly matched within each other, I'd just rather see geographic divisions: BC, Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke, North Carolina NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Georgia Tech, FSU, Miami |
