… and then there were five.
Oklahoma, Miami-Florida, Virginia Tech, Northern Illinois, and Texas Christian.
Nebraska lost their Blackshirts to Missouri 24-41. Florida State were swamped 14-22. (It's a shame when your own ground's crew fucks you like the Seminole's did.) Minnesota blew a 21 point lead to lose 35-38. Arkansas couldn't get the offense in gear to lose 3-10. LSU woke up some sleeping Gators 7-19. Ohio State got Badger bit 10-17. |
what did FSU's grounds crew do that was unfair to the 'Noles???
|
just think of what would have happened to texas if we had actually won!
half of the top 10 lost, so we would have gained +5 spots and more for beating the #1 team. thinking about this makes the loss even harder to swallow. |

no no no, that wasnt teh case.
the commentators were talking about this. they were talking about the pumps, but they havent used 'em in so long a time that they were afraid to turn 'em on. they were afraid that it might malfunction and suck up the soil or something. bowden sure seemed pissed. |
Yeah, they said the field is sand-based, and that turning on the pumps could suck up all the sand. And that would be worse then six inches of water on the field.
|
Whether turning on the pumps was forgotten or not done due to the lack of basic maintenance and testing (and don't tell me they didn't know what the weather was going to do, they have one of the best meteorology programs in the nation), the ground's crew still helped to screw the Seminoles out of a National Championship shot.

*off to pay the grounds crew their bribe*
:D |
Okay, they didn't fail to do their jobs out of intent to help Miami. No one could have known that the sloppy field would be a benefit to Miami. It looks like it should have helped Florida State, since it is their field and all.
The university should still be embarassed that most of the nation got to see their field in that bad condition. |

Both teams had to play in the same conditions. It should have helped FSU with Greg Jones running the ball. |
It should have. It helped Miami's Payton a whole lot more.
|
Let me restate my comment after OSU lost: "Shit fuck shit shit!!"
They cheated by the way! No just kidding, we've been lucky with our offense for so long and left everything to our defense, which wasn't doing well last night. |
