First, I admit that I hate the Cowboys. I also hate Bill Parcells. So that will explain some of the bias to my post.
The Cowboys are better than I expected them to be this year. I suspect that they are better than Parcells expected too. Now, they are coming into the hardest part of their schedule. They have the top rated defense and the 4th rated offense. I don't think they can maintain those ratings, but that doesn't mean they aren't on their way back. The point is that, in this day of parity in the NFL, they are back to being competitive. Since it seems like there will not be any more dynasties, will they become one of the temporary elite teams? Maybe in the next year or two, but not this year. I still think that it is probably 50/50 for them to make the playoffs. But the reality is that they can. All they need is to keep playing well and get a few breaks. I'll be rooting against them. But that doesn't mean that I don't respect the steps that they've made.

I don't think the problem was as much with Dallas playing poorly as TB played up to their potential. Besides Dallas won't sneak up on other teams anymore-the rest of the league has figured out Parcells has the Cowboys playing good football.

I hate to say it, but I saw a statistic about how four teams in the last 10 years that started the year 5-1 and managed to not make the playoffs. The Chargers last year were the last, and I think this might be the fifth. As much as I like them, the Cowboys were not as great a team as their record reflected.

The Boyz ain't back! Yet. But they are definitely headed in the right direction - the Tuna is not a magician, even though he has worked wonders with what he had to work with this year. Give him some time. if he can survive Jones' antics he'll turn them around but he can't do it overnight - they didn't get as bad as they were overnight and won't turn around in an instant. Next year will be a lot better. (If Jones stays where he belongs and leaves the Tuna alone).

If they can play that crappy and still win, there's hope. I think it's a difference in attitude. They expect to win now. After a first quarter like that, alot of teams, and the Cowboys in the last several years, would've just quit. The same could be said for individuals who really screwed up. Bouncing back showed alot for the team, and from Hambrick and Glenn.

Dallas is doing good, but they're only winning the games that they are supposed to win. They seem intimidated when they play teams that are considered the best in the league. Their enthusiasm just dies during those games and they get beat, bad. This isn't the year for Dallas. I think that they can take their division, but the next few weeks will be the big test. They will be playing tough opponents and they will have to treat them like they treat any other team. They can't play in awe of their opponents or they're going to lose. Because of that, I don't think this is the year for Dallas, but with Parcells there, it wouldn't surprise me if they made a run for it next year.

Seems like they are winning the games they ought to win, I would have expect TB to give them trouble , but Washington and the Buffalo looked like winnable games. Now the road gets tough
If they win one of the next four and don't get too nicked up. I'll be tickled. They won't win a playoff game, but it would be great to see them get there for a change.

You guys think Parcells isn't telling his team that Tampa is good, of course they know what they're up against, and they just play from week to week, I want to know how come Shockey stop running his mouth? The Cowboys were just floating around the league with no direction, Parcells came in and every single cowboy bit into his philosophy, and it turns out he knows what he is doing, I just didn't think it would happen this quick.

Parady is the worst thing to happen to the NFL. Every team is closely matched and the difference between winning and losing is usually based on a few quality players and injuries. The Cowboys may be on a role, and if they stay healthy they could go deep into the playoffs. They are certainly not at the verge of creating a new dynasty. We won't see any more dynasties in the NFL.

Dallas finally looked like a Parcells team should look, less mistakes and turnovers. They dropped the game against New England that way. IF they can take out the Dolphins at home, then it will be awfully hard to pick against them the rest of the year, with the possible exception of the Philly game.

The Cowboys are my favorite team, but I'll keep this post unbiased.
I agree with the statement that they aren't going to build a new dynasty. However, I do think they are on the verge of becoming a team that consistently finishes the year with a winning record. The NFC East is not the greatest division, and I haven't seen any personnel moves (that rival the addition of Parcells) the last few years that have made a big impact on the other three teams. If Bill Parcells stays alive, and doesn't leave like he did with all his other teams, I think the cowboys will make a return to WINNING, but not GLORY. Beating Carolina helped their playoff hopes too.
