College Football Saturday - Iowa and Texas winners
It's been a good college football Saturday and will only get better tonite - post your thoughts here.
My thoughts - Texas did what they needed to win. Does anyone else think Ell Roberson is the most overhyped player in the country? He has got some unbelievable wheels, but Carl Lewis could have completed five of eighteen for eight-nine yards and two picks. Iowa beat Michigan up front on the offensive side of the ball. Michigan's quarterback Navarre will leave his school with a "what could have been" label. Michigan has some of the best weapons at wideout and running back, but it doesn't translate into wins. More importnantly, you can score points on Michigan - that's not Big10 football. Florida has a quarterback in their young kid - but they'll have more losses like today before they can make a run. Florida fans better get used to it. Air Force didn't deserve a top25 raking. Utah deserves a top25 ranking. Urban Meyer is brilliant. Hope Utah fans don't get too attached - he'll be gone pretty quickly. |

Michigan's kicking game lost this one gor them. They are afraid of punt formation. A school with the tradition of offensive sinemen like UM's that can't block for their punter? Coach Carr needs a new special teams coach, or a new job.

The_Dude is right, it's not just Chance Mock, it's V. Young as well. And every team that the Sooners have had trouble with has had a mobile QB, it's like they just fall to pieces on Defense. The biggest reason why I legitimately think that Texas will beat OU is OU's inability to run the ball, White has been airing it out, and with Texas' ability to play lock down on the DB position just may kill OU's ability to score. Hey, I could be wrong and the Boomers could come up with a running game at the last second, but hey, stranger things have happened right?

Arkansas was Texas's first challenge. 38-28, Arkansas
Kansas State, as overrated as they are, was the second challenge, and Texas damn near lost that one despite Roberson's awful day. The #1 pass defense was earned by shuting down New Mexico State, Rice, and Tulane. Sorry, I'm not impressed; the average Texas high school team would have shut down those three. We'll see on Saturday. |

I'm not saying that Texas doesn't have a good team with a few great weapons on both sides of the ball. I do think that we have the better team this year. OU's run game isn't what it was last year with Griffin but it gets the job done. I don't think either team has really been tested this season so this will be a great game. OU's major advantage is in coaching. Bob Stoops has outcoached Mack Brown the last three years and I don'tt think this game will be any different.

yes, i agree that stoops > brown anytime.
but mack doesnt call the plays, but our off coordinator does. OU has been beatin us for the past few years and we have to win once in a while.
