Kobe a no-show
Kobe didn't show up at training camp because of some "illness". I wonder if his teammates truly support him or are they glad he's not there? From what I've read in the past, none of them really like him anyway.

Except when he scores 40 points in about 12 straight games and carries a team kicking and screaming all the way to the playoffs. Then they love him.

I've got a bad feeling about this....

With two new starters on offense, Kobe needs to be at camp. This is the type of team that needs perfect chemistry or it will be a colossal disappointment.

ESPN is reporting he should be in camp for practice today...

Kobe's teammates are supporting him wholeheartedly through his situation. In fact, news stories have stated that Shaq held an informal "Welcome to the Lakers" party for Gary Payton and Karl Malone and their families a couple weeks ago, and Kobe and Vanessa showed up, even though they NEVER attended non-team sanctioned functions like that in the past. Supposedly Kobe was participating in party games and stuff, having a good time. This shows me that the Lakers and Kobe are really making an effort to stay united in Kobe's ordeal. As for the none of the Laker's ever liking Kobe, that is simply a media exaggeration. The last couple seasons the team understands Kobe and his personality. Shaq and Kobe DID have issues in the past, but Shaq now knows that Kobe is the ying to his yang and they need each other.

Yeah the media tends to play things up. Ya gotta have drama to get ratings.
