Let me start by saying I will root for the Browns. I will also take the Steelers in the TFP contest.
1. Butch Davis and his staff have never beaten the Steelers. 2. Tim Couch is starting, but you could start Joe Montana himself, and the offense would struggle. This is because the offensive line might be the worst in football. The Steelers defensive front should be licking their chops. 3. The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Browns up front last week on both sides of the ball. Jon Kitna coulda held a tea party at times. 4. Special teams were supposed to be one of the club's strengths. So far, not so much. Northcutt is still playing a little hurt, the blockers change due to injury, and we missed a thirty yard field goal last week. 5. Tommy Maddox and his two stud receivers might have taken notice of the Browns secondary getting beat deep and getting called for pass interference. 6. The Browns cannot run the ball. This makes the play action they use look like a comedy routine. I could go on. Unfortunately, there is alot wrong with the team. Fortunately, they are young and there are some good players to build around. But it is likely going to be ugly again on Sunday. |

But seriously, Steelers will turn the Browns in to the Brown Smudges on the Turf. 42-10

Steelers to win easily.
For all the reasons outlined by people above, and also with Joey Porter back, their D looks a bit better. Also let's not forget they are playing at Heinz Field.

Wow. What a different team then I've been watching. Who the heck taught the Browns how to block up front? Their o-line gave Tim Couch the time he needed. Wow - what a one-eighty.
The Browns special teams did not look to great, and the rushing numbers will be inflated due to some late efforts. But any time you beat Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, you've done something correctly. |

somebody gimme a big glass of water (or better yet, vodka) to wash down the HUGE helping of crow Im having to eat here.
holy shit was that UUUUUUUUUUGGGLLYYYYYY. when the hell did Cleveland get an O-line, or a defense, for that matter. anyway, congrats to them, they just won their SuperBowl. I still say they wont make the playoffs. then again, based on how shitty the Steelers looked, they probably wont either, except maybe by default if they manage to win the division. /me hangs his head in shame

Browns win, which after the loss to the lowly Bungles and the mugging by Jamel Lewis, get us just about back to where I thought we would be this year... lousy.
Anything better than 6-10 should be considered a Butch Davis miracle. But then wasn't it his dropping of talented players (those "not with the program") that got us in this spot? It's hard to be rebuilding again. Thanks for listening. |
