His pitching isn't too shabby either, even though he may be the third best pitcher on the team.

Third best pitcher on the staff? Your crazy. Zambrano isn't half the pitcher Wood is. He's good, but he's nothing like Kerry Wood.
Wood has 11 losses this year, 5 of which he had the lead befoe leaving the game. =/ His record means absolutley nothing. |

How does Wood constantly strike out 10+ guys a game? I mean his fastball tops out at around 95-96 (sometimes he'll pump it up to 98 or so) but other guys in the league do that as well and don't have the K-ratio that Wood does...
Oh yeah...and I'd do his wife too... |

As a die hard Cubs fan, I can tell you that during most of the season I have had more confidence in Zambrano than Wood. With Wood it seemed we either got a complete game shutout or a terrible game. With Zambrano it seemed I could pencil him in for at least 7IP 3ER.

Tonight is what Zambrano will always be 3rd on this staff. 7 hits in 3 innings, and gives up the goahead run before they pull him. 3 innings, 3 jams, the last one cost them. While the ERA may be lower, he doesn't have the ability yet to pitch his way out of big bases loaded jams, he also lacks the mentality(It's there, he just has no idea where those 100mph fastballs are going, and actully, I think that gun was pumped up tonight, I've never seen him throw 100mph, he had 4 pitches at 100-101).
He's very emotional, and sometimes I wonder if it's too much. Last edited by Kurant; 10-01-2003 at 09:48 PM.. |

I really think that Fox should show woods wife everynight they play regardless if he pitches or not. Wood over Zambrano, especially now. Carlos hasnt been all that amazing in his past three starts ( including last night). In any case the Cubs will win Friday. Prior is the bomb diggity.
