Explain this to me....

Why is Texas ranked above Arkansas?
Why is Michigan above Oregon?
Why is Florida even in the top 25?
Why did Michigan only drop 5 places and K-State drop 10 places?
How can someone honestly give Ohio State first place votes?

I am just posing some questions that I think show that the polls really are not that accurate. What are your thoughts and comments?

You cant just jump from unranked to a top 10 ranking. texas ass raped rice, that should have helped. also, this is the coaches poll. they dont watch every game and mainly rely on the final score.

again, cuz they are the coaches poll and florida has historically fielded a good team (i remember last week or so when Texas a&m was ranked #20 in this poll)

although i'm puzzled at why arkansas is #10!

Michigan dropped only 5 to KSU 10 for the reason that UM went on the road and lost to a BCS school...while KSU after playing cupcakes all season lost at home to Marshall.

Voters take into account where the game is being played and the past opponents that being said Florida has no reason to be in any top 25 anything.

Toledo beat Pitt and Marshall they are not up there.

Your questions really can't be explained.

I will say that you shouldn't waste your time with the ESPN/USATODAY/COACHESPOLL. Check out the real poll, the AP Poll. It's the only one I use to comment, etc. The sportswriters are generally much better informed than the coaches.

As for Ohio State getting five first-place votes, alot of people believe in the "number one till you are beaten" philosophy. Don't get upset over those points though, as Ohio State may lose as many as three games this year.

Im gonna say Michigan, Iowa,and Purdue, can beat them very easly

Easier said than done.

When was the last time someone beat the Buckeye's easily? Exactly.

Ohio State might not look pretty, they might not have the most talented guys, but they have the most points at the end, and that's all that matters.

Miami beat them last year till an offical who wanted to be bigger than the game GAVE OSU another chance.

You should let go of your bitterness.

Defending my Ohio State comments... this is not the same team that won all their close games last year. Someone will make them pay for not being able to run the ball.

Ohio State really annoys me. The reason is because I am not a fan of theirs. If I was a fan, I would probably go insane. I wouldn't be able to handle all of those close games!

The annoyance comes from the fact that they cannot win a game by more than 10 points. It seems like every game they play, regardless of the team, is CLOSE. That would drive me nuts. Being a person that doesn't really care for them, I am also annoyed that they keep getting so damn lucky and squeaking by everyone. I can't wait until they get blown out of the water by a team playing up to snuff.

It is not a matter of luck. They play just well enough to win. It is not about running up the score. A few mistakes last week cost the buckeyes a huge win. But when the defense needs to step it up, it does. When the offense needs to step it up it does also. Not many teams would have been able to beat NCst in 3 overtimes without having a decent running game. Ohio state will play at the level of their opponents. I am not a big fan of this, but that is what happens. Now after seeing some life out of the buckeyes running game against BG, I expect to see a northwestern team go down rather quickly. Assuming they do not start playing prevent and letting teams back in the game. they have Michigans number, so I am not worried about them but purdue and Iowa.....well we shall see.
