Vincent Young=Instant Offense (No Assembly Required)

Did anybody else watch the University of Texas vs. New Mexico State game? Wow, I mean, just wow. Chance Mock was able to get the ball to the right people after he settled down, and he will only get better. The Defense is swarming the ball much better now. Now to the guy who Michael Vick should be looking over his shoulder at, Vincent Young. This man just made NMS's defense look completely foolish, when he ran, almost everytime it was either a first down or a touchdown. Then he throws a 50 yard pass that looks like a freakin punt. Methinks that Oklahoma should not be so assured of themselves when they face Texas this time around. Oh yeah, we got something ready for 'em.

Er...New Mexico State wasn't exactly a mediocre team, but yeah, he was tearing it up.

v-young is the man. he was the leading rusher after being put in for part of the 4th qtr!

the crowd started roaring when coach put vince in the game.

vince young is the man!

anyway, i dont think vince can throw short passes (he didnt try any last night) and that's why mack brown starts chance mock.

mock wasnt bad at all, as he didnt turn it over and threw some great passes.

I don't think he has to throw the short passes, he can run just as far. I think you're right tho, until Young develops his screen passing abilities, Mack Brown won't start him just yet.

Bottom line Texas isn't even the best team in the conference. Beat Oklahoma for once will you. Then don't choke against the Aggies.

I'm talking about this year. Please lets talk about this year not what teams did last year or years before.

A&M isn't a viable threat anyways, not for another couple of years anyways. Maybe you should tell OU not to choke on OSU and Mizzou. The toughest time that OU has had with defending a team is when their opponent's QB is mobile, I think Mack Brown realizes this, and as soon as V. Young learns the offense better, he will be the starter and he will just give OU fits on D.

All these power teams should watch out for the Sleepers/Dark Horses, there's still plenty of upset mania to go around.

Make sure the hurdles are cleared before you start shaking the champagne. Remember the 2001 Big XII championship that was supposed to be the Oklahoma-Nebraska rematch? Oklahoma State and Colorado decided "I DON'T THINK SO!" and ruined a lot of peoples' travel plans.

For Texas, everyone is a hurdle, except for Rice and Baylor. Kansas State isn't going to be easy, and immediately following it up with Oklahoma will only make it worse. Nebraska may be completely back from Purgatory by November, and Oklahoma State will have their shit together by then too. Texas Tech will give everyone fits this year. Playing Iowa State there won't be easy, this may be their "bowl" game.

From October 4 to November 22, eight teams in 8 weeks with only 1 patsy. Texas might be doing good to clear it 5-3 or 6-2, either of which would be virtual elimination from the National Championship.
