Jeff Weaver v. A bag of feces

I'm going to put $50 on the steaming bag of shit, because that's a step above what Weaver is these days.

Look at this prick.

I'm a Yankee fan, by the way, but this fool has got to go.

I would enjoy watching Weaver fall down a hill like Chris Farley did in Black Sheep.

K-Wise 08-30-2003 11:20 PM

That was truely a great moment in cinematic history.

Next year will be awesome, with Clemens retired, Wells doing God-doesn't-even-wanna-know what elsewhere, and Pettete possibly gone as well. It's gonna be Mussina and We'll see ya!

Mikey The Great 08-31-2003 09:01 AM

Umm, no it won't. Don't think for a second that the Yankees won't a) give Pettitte anything he wants now that he's won 17 games and is Cy Young candidate and b) immediately hop on the first free-agent to hit the market and lure him in by the time you start your Christmas shopping. Plus, they have Jon Leiber returning, who could be a wild card if he's fully recovered from Tommy John surgery. Of course, that's an if, but a rotation featuring Pettitte, Mussina, some big-name free agent, Weaver/Contreras and perhaps Leiber is a lot better than what most teams can run out there each week.

Why would Pettitte leave? It will be Mussina, Pettitte, a rejuvenated Jon Leiber, an adjusted Jose Contreras---and does anyone think that the Yanks will stand pat with that rotation? If there's a starting pitcher on the market, New York will be in the mix.

If you're banking your own team's success on the failure of the Yankees.....good luck.

What scares me is this... (as a sox fan)

The Yankees will send Weaver down to A ball for a while, he is going to develop a pitch much like Halladay did, and become a hell of a pitcher. He's got some good stuff. If he can ever put things together he will be lights out...

soxsfans 09-01-2003 05:09 PM

Well he came thru for Boston again today (ha,ha). 3R HR to Phelps.

AL9045 09-01-2003 05:12 PM

Weaver is an idiot.

chiefslappajo 09-01-2003 08:57 PM

I'll take weaver on my team. Oh, BTW, I am a red's fan.

See my Tim Hudson thread. Andy pettitte is *NOT* a cy young candidate, even if your biased NY media insists that he is.

He has wins because he has huge run support. His era isn't even in the top 10--its actually 16th. He has a 4.01 era. That is NOT an ace. That shouldn't be a #1 on any club. Or 2, on a team that actually is making an effort to win.

Shit, Roger Clemens looks better than Pettitte this year. Same ERA, same innings, better WHIP.

You Yankees fans kill me.

Cheese
