Mario goes flying.
You guys see this video? (note im gonna link it to the article at a newstation in indy and click on the video link on the page to see the video of it.)
http://www.wthr.com/Global/story.asp...6&nav=9TahFPiv The guy sure has some luck, he walked away from it with a sore heel and a small cut on his chin, keep in mind the guy is 63 years old. |
It was AMAZING! He is so lucky--and admitted the same in an interview after the crash.
Always watch out for the debris in front of you when you're doing more than 200 mph. |
That was incredible.
I left the room and missed it on SportsCenter today, and am just seeing it for the first time at the website above. It really is amazing he survived that crash. Was he in the car the entire time, or did he fall out while it was in the air? |
he was in it the entire time, if he fell out he would of been dead. The whole front of the chassis was all there, but the motor it looks like either fell out while air borne (which i don't think happend) or came out when the car came back down. (which i think happend) If he landed upside down though it would be another story i bet.

that was an incredible visual!

Mario hit a chunk of stryrofoam that was dislodged from the "SAFER" wall when Kenny Brack hit the wall just seconds before he had his accident. The SAFER wall is a 'soft' wall that has flat steel tubed in front of styrofoam - supposedly it will collapse when hit by a car and absorb some of the impact. When Brack hit the wall, evidently a chunk was dislodged and that's what Mario hit.
Mario is very lucky. Had he landed any other way, he would have been seriously injured or worse. |
It's always amazing when, by all rights, you should be dead, and you can still get up and walk away from a crash.

yep a lucky lucky man
