This Year's NFL Sleepers
Last year we had many QB Sleepers such as Marc Bulger, Tommy Maddox and Kelly Holcomb (who was outstanding in the games he played).
They had some pretty big shoes to fill in Warner, Stewart and Couch, and they all did pretty well. Who do you see this year, coming out of a shell and having a major inpact? |
Raven's Kyle Boller.
If he's all that SportsCenter claim he is, he should do pretty good imo. |
Andre Johnson from the Texans. Hes raw talent with the size to boot. 6'3 220 and runs a 4.4 with great hands. I think he will have a great year if Carr doesnt spend the year on his back again.

i'll put some money on terrance newman/roy williams combo secondary of the dallas cowboys. |
I think David Carr will improve now that he has a real WR and a slightly less terrible O-line in front of him. I think Matt Hasselback has a chance to really step it up this year as well, he's in a great system. And god help me, I think Kordell will play with a chip on his shoulder and look like an MVP candidate.
In terms of WRs, Travis Taylor looked to be breaking out last year but he kind of stalled out. Maybe he'll get it back. I really like Antonio Bryant in Dallas and also Ashley Leile (sp?) in Denver. |
franco, Kordell has sub-par receivers, an iffy RB, and a poor D seeing as though the Bears traded Washington and lost Colvin in FA.
Up until yesterday, I would have said Corell Buckhalter, but since Staley came back I will go with Charlie Rogers and Andre Johnson. Young fast guys who have young strong arms in systems and are almost impossible to study because as of right now, there's almost no tape on both of them. |
I think that Stephen Davis will have a breakout year for Carolina. He was basically thrown away by the Redskins in the off-season, and he will have something to prove to everyone. Plus, they will rely greatly on their defense to win them games, so they will use Davis a lot to eat up the clock and control the tempo of the game.

The Steelers have a pretty good receiving core. This year they have one of the best 3 WR sets in the league.
And the Bears won't let him run more, unless you mean that the Bears will force him to run more because the pocket will collapse every other play :) |
I won't argue with the rest of it, but:

I would say either Vinny Intercept-averde (sorry, old habit from his Ravens days ;)) or Doug Johnson, since they have a real chance to lead their teams. If (when ;)) Kordell Stewert Struggles, Rex Grossman might make a run for the sleeper title as well. I do think the biggest sleeper team will be the Ravens. The defense is just about as good as 2000, and the offense, whether under Boller or Redman, is probably the best all-around since the team arrived. |
I think Boss Bailey from the Lions will have a very good year. He has great athletic ability to play outside linebacker all he needs to do is improve on his tackling.
|
Josh Reed of the Bills. Moulds is still the #1 guy, but Reed will get over 1000 yds receiving this season.

Brian Finneran of the Dirty Birds. Doug Johnson is by no means inept and defenses will be so keyed on Peerless that Finneran has a good chance to get 800 - 1000 yds and maybe 6-8 touchdowns.
|
I agree, Boss Baily's going to be nasty this year... but the lions will still suck

I think donte stallworth will reach pro bowl status

Watch out for William Green at Cleveland. I think he'll lead the NFL in rushing this year!!
|
hahahahahahahahahaha. He'll be fourth in his own division, if not fifth.
|
amos zeroue of the steelers... maybe
matt hasslebeck of the seahawks... he quietly threw for over 3000 yards last year, their offense could be potent. also, hines ward is a sleeper every year, even though hes almost led the league in receptions the past couple of years. last year he had 112 receptions and 12 TDs, obviously overshadowed by marvin harrison's 140 something catches. |

He will be pitching this week against the Steelers. I for one one would have went with Redman, but you can bet your as I'll be rooting for Boller. GO RAVENS!! |
