Is this a fair deal?

ok, i am the league commissioner at a private league (for fantasy NFL) and here is one of the trades.

Favre, Brett (QB-GB)
Holmes, Priest (RB-KC)
Johnson, Keyshawn (WR-TB)
Reed, Josh (WR-Buf)
------------------------
Brown, Tim (WR-Oak)
Davis, Stephen (RB-Car)
Glenn, Terry (WR-Dal)
McNair, Steve (QB-Ten

i vetoed it cuz i'm suspecting foul play. i think a person is using 2 accounts to have these 2 manager accounts.

i posted and asked my league what they thought and i was wondering what the tfpers thought.

also, this is a 10 person league.

more : i did a profile search on the hotmail addresses used to register, and both had extremely gross pictures in their profiles (one was an old old lady (nude) and the other was a really really fat one (nude)).

--------

here are the league settings

Statistical Categories (Offense): Passing Yards (50 yards per point)
Passing Touchdowns (6)
Interceptions (-2)
Rushing Yards (20 yards per point)
Rushing Touchdowns (6)

Return Touchdowns (6)
2 Point Conversions (2)
Fumbles Lost (-2)

Statistical Categories (Kickers): Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (5)
Point After Attempt Made (1)

Statistical Categories (Defense Teams): 0 Pts Allowed (10)
1-6 Pts Allowed (7)
7-13 Pts Allowed (4)
14-20 Pts Allowed (1)

It does seem a little lopsided, but it depends on the scoring too? Is it a TD only league, yardage league, or both?

The only way it really looks fair is if it's a TD only league. Otherwise, one team is obviously coming out ahead.

It seems very lopsided. There is no way you should allow that trade.

Holmes better than Davis
Favre better than McNair
Johnson better than Glenn
Reed is worse than Brown, but not by enough to make up for it.

I agreed with BadForm, either this is a major sucker deal or both teams are controlled by the same person. Either way, bounce it.

Foul play definately.

Favre, Brett (QB-GB) - One of the best fantasy QB's.
Holmes, Priest (RB-KC) - Top 3 Fantasy guy
Johnson, Keyshawn (WR-TB) - Top 5 fantasy receiver
Reed, Josh (WR-Buf) - Great potential in breakout season
------------------------
Brown, Tim (WR-Oak) - Aging and is one of three targets in Oakland
Davis, Stephen (RB-Car) - Decent, but a stretch at even being in the top 10 of RB's
Glenn, Terry (WR-Dal) - Top 50 in WR's. At best.
McNair, Steve (QB-Ten - Decent QB in real life, but doesn't compare to Farve in fantasy.

Kick his ass out.

That is a lopsided trade. Who would trade for Terry Glenn anyway.

Trade isn't that bad. Wide Recievers aren't a big deal, unless you have Marvi Harrison involved. Stats arent nearly as consistent as they are for other positions. At any rate, Keyshawn scored 3 tds a year; he's a name player. Holmes is a better runner, but if I recall, he is coming off of hip surgery. As for Favre, let me say this: He is not a great fantasy guy. Hasn't been for three years.

If I were picking one side, I'd pick Favre, but it doesnt seem horrible.

McNair was injured all last year and still had a monster year without Eddie George to distract defenses and they are both healthy this year. Davis will be the focal point of the panthers' offense and, as TheJeff said, wide outs mean very little unless you are talking about superstars. (there aren't any involved in this deal) Favre is still a good QB, but he isn't as dominant as he once was, plus the team around him is greatly diminished. Factor in that even the Chiefs are concerned about Holmes' injury (see the draft) and you have a pretty even deal.

Keyshawn is a 100 reception guy, Glenn will get be lucky to get 50, hell, he probably won't even get 30.

Josh Reed is a quality number 2 guy that's going to have a HUGE breakout season now that Peerless is gone. Brown's numbers are going down because of Rice and Porter becoming better.

Farve is a tank, plays every week, guarenteed numbers, guarenteed big 3 big games each year when the Vikes, Lions, and Bears come to Lambeou. McNair is one hell of a competitor, but he's held together by duct tape for almost all the season.

Priest is fine, he's shown he can make the cuts, and sprint just as he had before. He's over the injury. Davis on the other hand is going to be seeing seven, eight, and nine in the box since the Panthers only decent QB is Peete, and if they want Delholme to develop properly, they need to stick him in. So you're betting the #1 player in fantasy football on Davis having a few big games.

Keyshawn is a superstar, and Reed will be there in a few years, in the meantime, he's going to be insanely productive. Remember Price's numbers last year? Plug those in as a minimum for Reed this year.

Except they aren't anymore (see preseason).

Keyshawn is a name player. He has 14 receiving tds in 3 years. As for being a 100 reception guy, he has had one season (of 7) where he topped 100. He is a talented wide reciever, but hes not a fantasy stud.

And Favre isn't that much more indestructible than McNair (this is coming from a Favre fan too).

I'm a Farve fan too, but there's a huge difference between the way that Farve and McNair take hits.

Farve rolls with the hit, so he doesn't get it full blown.

McNair repeatedly goes in head on.

There's another big reason why you should pick Farve over McNair. Vikings, Bears, and Lions.
