i'm about to head off to college next yr (ut-austin baby!)

and i was wondering how much a ticket would cost.

i'm a HUGE sports fan and am planning to attend a shitload of games.


anyway, i checked @ mackbrown-texasfootball.com and they said it's 70 bucks for an ALL SEASON ALL SPORTS pass!

that kinda seems a lil bit unbelievable to me.


are the prices really that cheap?

If you are going to your own colleges sporting events, you can probably get a "student rate" that is lower than what others will have to pay to get in.

$70 for all season all sports sounds like a student deal to me, as you are already paying money in tuition and such.

That isn't a bad price at all though by any means. Very reasonable if it is in fact true.

Hey Dude, glad to hear you are such a sports fan. I'd like the section of the board to be more active. I love sports.

Every institution is different, you'll need to call to find out. We used to pay for football tickets, get free basketball tickets (though you had to wait to get one), and pay for baseball tickets. Never more than five bucks a game though. Call the student center on campus.

Finally, make sure you take advantage of the baseball team. You'll get some chances to see some serious big leaguers there! Also, BTW, college baseball games are a great place to bring a pretty coed.

Lucky bastard. Here at UNL, it's about $150 for season tickets for students, and we get half off! My parents have to pay twice that much, plus a $200 "donation" each year to the booster club just to stay eligible for the tickets.

The $70 should work for you at Austin - sometimes you can claim to be married and get a student ticket for the "wife" also for the same price. If you want to go to "THE" game try and get your tickets at Austin before the fair starts - they get really pricey if you try to buy them after you get to Dallas. I have found that at Norman you can often get pretty good tickets if you stick it out until just before the game starts or right after it has started - of course you take a chance on not getting a ticket at all but the price definitely goes down in a hurry with the first kickoff. It also depends on who you're playing - I can remember when scalpers couldn't give away tickets to the K-State and KU games.

Season Tickets at Auburn are $250 apiece (and that doesn't count the extra "donation" necessary to keep our same seats every year).

The Auburn home ticket this year includes Southern Cal, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and two cannon-fodders. Prices for most games are $40 each.

At Illinois, it's like 70 bucks to get tickets to ~15 basketball games and 60 bucks for 6 football games.

Here in one of the less competitive conferences (Ivy League- Division I basketball, Division I-AA football), we are able to see beloved team play their 25 basketball games for a low price of $110. Individual games are $6. Football games are completely free and sometimes offers free food as well.

At Virginia Tech, we paid 1 athletic fee at the beginning of the year that gets you a punch card for all the major athletic stuff....football, basketball, baseball, etc. Then the tickets were free. Still are, to my knowledge.

Now that I've graduated, I think season tickets will cost me a little over $200 for football this year. Pricey, but compared to everything else here in Northern VA, worth it.

normal tickets are a helluva lot more..lucky you
