Jimmy, Pete and Skip were talking about Questec and they say Maddox hasn't been affected at all. At Questec ball parks he is 6 and 2.
Glavine and Schilling on the otherhand hate Questec with a passion and I don't blame them. Well win or not win, if you can't respect the braves for making it to post season 12 years in a row then you aren't enough of a baseball fan for me. (I say 12, cause unless something really wacky happens then the Braves are almost a sure thing) |
Hrm...I assumed he wasn't get the calls at Questec parks. If that isn't the case, then he's having major problems elsewhere for losing as much as he has this year.
And making the playoffs doesn't mean anything if you can't follow through. Look at the Portland Trailblazers. |
I don't know man..In baseball I think it means a lot more then any other sport.
Having to win at least 80+ games in a grueling 162 game schedule, that's a little hard in my opinion. I think Maddux had problem in the earlier part of the year, but he hasn't lost a game in his last 6 starts. |
Earlier in the year? More like the whole year. And it wasn't just walks or anything, he was getting absolutely rocked early on.

I'd really love to see the Braves win this season but I'm not sure if it'll happen. First off we don't have the best record in the World Series, we seem to lose a lot in those games. And second our pitching isn't the best this season that's its been before. The hitting this year is just phenomenal and I hope it'll continue that way for the rest of the season.

I'd just like to bring this topic back up to point out that with today's victory, Mike Hampton is now 7-0 with a 3.57 E.R.A. in his last 8 starts. Also, we just acquired Kent Mercker for bullpen help. :D

And almost every other team in contention has gotten stronger in one form or another too :D
Great to see the Braves almost have something that resembles a pitching staff now. |
I think I just might be the first female to post in this thread. Sweet!
I think the Braves have a great shot. Yes, their pitching isnt as it has been in the past. But you cannot argue with their hitting. Every single one of them is stepping it up. And my man Javy is on fire. I think they can get it done this year. |
Offensively they have what it takes, however its defense and pitching that wins games, so if their pitching and defense hold up then they might have a shot. St. Louis is looking really strong right now and Albert Pujols is prolly one of the best hitters in the game today. Playoffs are going to be good this year.
If the dodgers had any type of offense they would have a shot because they have no doubt the best pitching in the NL. they need a whole new infield because they are dogshit right now. |
Their pitching is good enough and their O is almost unstoppable. I would have to say they are the front runners.
