I hope to see Ottawa and Dallas in the finals, with Ottawa coming away with the cup. Not that I particularly like nor dislike either of the teams... I just think that Ottawa needs nothing less than ol' Stanley to get out of the monetary problems they are in.
Even though I'm from the US, I don't want to see too many more teams come to the US from Canada. There are some teams in the NHL that are riduculous to have a team. Phoenix being the worst.... hockey in the DESERT?? WTF? And the Panthers need a new home too... anywhere where is doesn't snow often... just doesn't need a hockey team. (be aware I'm half-joking about these teams needing to move) |

Ottawa from the East and Vancouver from the West.
With Ottawa hoisting the cup. I agree with plaino with that there's too many teams out there right now thinning out the talent pool. But I'm just one fan who cares about the game, not an owner who wants his wallet full...

At the Beginning of the year I picked Vancouver to win the cup. (I live in Colorado and live and breathe Avalanche Hockey) Some of my freinds called me insane, but that was my pre-season pick. J.S.G. seems to be no fluke for the Ducks, and I see Dallas losing in 6. Can the Ducks beat the winner of the Wild/'Nucks game? Who knows. Will there be a west Cup winner again? Who knows. It's hockey....after all, TB could still win it all.

I would have picked the winner out of the East to win. Ottowa is looking good atm. But the Ducks look like they're for real out of the west.
Ducks and Ottowa in the Cup finals? Ducks in 7 Another miracle out of Anahiem

The Wings, Colorado, Leafs GONE and with the Stars on thin ince all thats left is Ottawa, the 'nucks, and Devils.
Minni, will run out of steam, and the Gigure will let in a goal sooner or later. Vancouver out of the west they're too big to go down to the Wild, or the Ducks...and I really hate to say this but it's a toss up in the east with the Devils and Sens if the Devils win they'll take the cup if its Ottawa look to them to win it in 7 |

After tonight, if the Flyers are on their game, you see how they can shut down people....
I think Anaheim/Philly would be a great goalie matchup. I just think hockey would reach an ultimate low if they had to engrave "Mighty Ducks" onto the Cup. |

After that last Ott-Phi game (game 4), if Ottawa doesn't wake up from their comma, they're going to be on the golf course before they know it. It always has something to do about the second round. It's cursed.

Actually, I would like to see the Ducks take it, but mostly because of they took out Detroit.
Man, who would have thought it, Detroit and Colorado out the first round??

I'm starting to think the only way Ottawa is going to beat New Jersey is if they slip laxatives in Brodeur's water bottle.
On second thought, he'd probably still stop pucks better than Lalime.

I would love to see any team from the East at this point win the Cup. I just don't want it to go to L.A. I can not stand to see the name 'Mighty Ducks' on the Cup. I'd love to see Brodeur win again, as he is a great goalie. THe devils also have a few ex-Sharks (doesn't everybody now a days). But .....I still like the Sen's small payroll. Shows the rest of the league you don't have to buy a team, you build it.
Like I said, and I hate to say it - Go Eastern Conference. p.s. Gotta love the great hockey in these playoffs!

Well ... I think the Ducks days are numbered, they show alot of heart and work well as a team, but they are no match for the Eastern Conf. Champion. no offence to Ducks fans, but the ride was fun while it lasted and you knocked off 3 great teams and my hat goes off to you, but I am just not convinced that the Ducks can win a best of seven series vs. NJ or OTT. For instance Ottawa has loads of speed on the wings, impresive scorers, and strong D-men and also have the strong willed goaltending of Lalime. On the other hand New Jersey has big strong, hard hitting players who can also score and NJ also has arguably the best goaltender in the modern NHL ( Martin Brodeur ).
and those are my well informed thoughts "om" if you disagree |

If I didn't hear that post of yours a few dozen times Lyncher, then I would agree with you. The Ducks are playing with such heart, and they're having a Fun time doing it. I think they like being the underdogs, and they've proved it by knocking out the 1st and 2nd seeded teams in the West (2 teams that were considered very good odds at winning the cup)
It takes a lot more than just luck to beat Dallas and Detroit in the playoffs - it takes a great, hot Goaltender. This does appear to be Deja-Vu all over again. (Montreal '86 ring a bell?) I think too many people are underestimating the Ducks... I mean they swept the defending champs, they ran over arguably the best team in the league this year, and then swept a team that beat both the Avs and Canucks in the playoffs. They're for real... as long as Giguere stays hot, that is. |
