Favorite Sportscenter Anchors

Who is your all time favorite ESPN Sportscenter anchor team and why?

Mine is definitely Keith Olberman and Dan Patrick. They played off each other so well, and made the show so much fun to watch. Every time I see a homerun highlight, I still say to myself "He hit the ball...real hard."

My favorite team was Patrick and Olbermann. They were humorous without getting in the way of the highlights. My favorite individual anchor was Kilborn. Hard to believe his show sucks so much ass now.

I don't really have a favorite Sportscenter anchor team, so I'll cheat and go with the ESPN NFL Primetime team of Chris Berman and Tom Jackson.

I really like Stuart Scott, Rich Eisen, Dan Patrick, Trey Wingo, and John Anderson.

I think they're all funny.

yeah, he wanted too much money and wanted to do less Sportscenters, while ESPN wanted more Sportscenters. Dunno where he moved on to.

I like John Anderson, Berman. Patrick was the best.
I could do without Stuart Scott. He should try to present the highlights more, and provide less Stuart Scott.

Agreed right there. I still am not used to the glasses he started sporting during the NBA Finals. Makes his eyes look all weird and stuff.

No Linda Cohn fans? She's been there forever

Rich Eisen will be one of the main anchors for a new football network. I'm not sure of how readily available the network will be, but for his sake, I hope it does well. He was solid.

I like Kenny Mayne, no one has mentioned him yet. He just makes me laugh when I see his face and with the way he regularly talks, and doesn't overdo any puns or catch phrases like Stuart Scott. Haven't seen him lately, maybe because I haven't been watching sportscenter too much lately, it fucking sucks when football season is out.

I have always loved Kenny Mayne and Stu Scott...and then there's John Anderson, Trey Wingo, Linda Cohn, and the rest. All of the anchors have a great sense of humor, and it definitely makes SportsCenter great!
I can think of the Baseball Tonight anchor who used "Say hello to my little friend" fo the home runs, but that was classic, as was "Say hello to Raef LaFrentz"
Oh yeah, and all the female anchors saying "dong"
Insert 3rd grade giggling

It could have been...hehe...I haven't been able to take him seriously since I noticed his resemblance to a guy a friend of mine dated who we just referred to as "Fuck Toy" of FT for short...

Hey, don't diss Scott Van Pelt...he's a former Terp, I gotta like him

I also like Kenny Mayne, and Rich Eison.

Whatever happened to Charlie Steiner? He did the best "This is Sportscenter" commercials, plus was a good anchor to boot...

Steiner had an inredible sense of humor---"Follow me! Follow me to FREEDOM!!!"

Now, he's doing Yankees games.

Throw in the young Chris Berman before the nicknames became forced and that would be my top 4 for sport centers.

Since others are mentioning football, I will miss Sterling Sharpe this year. He always brought an interesting spin and stirred the pot with his comments.

I miss Olbermann really bad. He was the greatest (especially, as noted, against Patrick).
