Varitek in the All Star Game
 

Does anyone have any idea why Jason Varitek never made it into the All Star game? It seem Posada and Hernandez were in there for a long time. I think he at least deserved one inning on the field, even if he never hit. Any Sox fan knows he is having a great season and it would have been nice to see him there.

It was a neat All Star game to watch though. There is nothing better than watching a game come down to the wire.

Because both sides were playing to win and playing for extra innings.

I think the attitude that everyone should get in the all star game is stupid. It's an honor to even be picked for the team, if you aren't picked to start, don't expect to play.

If anyone should have been in the game it was Dontrelle Willis. The most exciting young pitcher in the game, and he didn't even get an inning. He was there for the same reason that Clemens was: he earned it for an achievement. Clemens was a number accomplishment (300wins/4000 K's), and Willis' was for rejuvinating baseball in Florida and getting a hell of a lot of hype.

Just shows that Scioscia "got it" while Dusty didn't.

Clemens didn't earn anything. Nothing. He wasen't even selected. He got in on someone dropping out if I'm not mistaken..

Willis on the other hand, I couldn't believe this guy didn't get an inning. Prior didn't get one either, did he? I'm a Cubbies guy, I still don't understand Dusty sometimes.

Well now we know why Prior didn't get in, he was and still is hurt after that collision with Marcus Giles.

the pitcher i think your forgetting that didn't get in was roy halladay, a guy who has won 14 in a row. instead of that seatle guy who tried to lose it.
