Boston Vs New York pt 2

Well this was a good Independence day for Boston Wells was crushed!! We hit 7 homers and won 10-3. We've been swinging the bat well lately.. I say we (Boston) win 3 out of 4 during this series..

Beating up on geezers isn't very nice.

One day an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each bought a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!"

Don't worry. Mendoza is pitching tommorrow. Boston shouldn't even bother showing up.

3 of 4 huh? Be happy if you win another game. Is it August yet? Almost time for Boston to mail in the rest of the season and finish 10+ games out again.

As for the Yankee$ a$ long a$ $tienbrenner feel$ threatened by the sox he will buy, buy, buy. Who is he looking at now? Urbina, williams, giles, beltran.
They will be soon over $200 million in payroll, if they dont win it all they are the laughing stock of the pro sports world.

Steinbrenner threatened by the Sox? Don't you mean the other way around? The only team with a worse Yankees inferiority complex is the Mets.

And if they do, they you guys can spend your 83rd winter without a title complaining about how we bought another one. How conveniently that works out for Boston fans. Last year's Yankee payroll was 133M. Who was second highest? That's right, Boston at $110M.

Enjoy the series this weekend against the Yankees. We'll enjoy the one in October, against the Giants.

the marlins told the baseball world that they were going to buy a championship, and they did.

Lets look at some numbers....
Yankees@160m
Redsox @100m (these are opening day numbers)
---------------------------
= 60m

60million dollars= 2 A rods + a 13million a year guy lets say Junior.

or the Sox could get, Larry Walker, Griffey,Randy johnson, kevin brown, and maddux, and still be at the same payroll as the yankees.

So yes the yankees have always bought rings.

There is nothing wrong with it, it is legal(killing baseball but legal)
But having to live in jersey and listening to yankee fans say the money has nothing to do with it shows how they live through pinstripe glasses.

One last comment, How many World Series did the Yankees win during CBS ownership? none

Do you know why? They didnt spend any money!

feeling tingly

Teams have always bought rings. Look at the salary difference between the great Yankee teams of the past and a team like the St. Louis Browns. It was similar disparity--just not in the millions as it is today. There are rare examples of a budget-conscience team winning, but it's the exception rather than the rule.

As for the original theme of this thread: If the Red Sox continue to spank New York like they have been this weekend and someone is getting released, traded or fired. George doesn't like to be embarrassed on his birthday. Especially by the BoSox!!!

Crazy

Steinbrenner is the poster child for everything that is wrong in baseball. Even with the luxury tax, he can still afford to go out and buy the contracts that other teams are looking to cut. Baseball needs to have a salary cap similar in structure to the NFL. There is something to be said about parody, with small market teams having an equal opportunity to win championships.

fuck the yankees and anyone who likes them. almost as bad as duke basketball fans.

you have to be pretty heartless to like, let alone love or follow the yankees

but as much as i love boston, they aint winning a championship this year. not enough staff in the bull pen and their defense is pretty bad.

same goes for the yankees though. and thats whatll get torre fired
