Where for art thou Martina
What happened to martina Hingis? I loved watching her play tennis, Wimbledon just isnt the same.
She's "retired."
She's only 23 or so, so I expect she may come back. But she has had chronic foot problems for some time. Also, I'm not sure if she wasn't the last great champion of a different era in women's tennis. I'm not sure how well she'd match-up with Capriati/Williams sisters/Maurisimo types. I hope to see her again as well. |
she was awfully fine
She is a hottie, better than Anna, in her own kind of way.
she was a great player, maybe even the last of the female touch players.
but she retired with a recurring foot injury. but maybe she also realised that she possibly couldn´t always win against the emerging power game of the williams girls (and the rest). i have to say that she was incredibly arrogant, more so than your average tennis star, and that to me is a major turn off...so i have to disagree with this ´fine´ thing. |
I miss her so........
Yeah, i agree about her being better than Anna in her own way. Im considerably saddened by her absence from the game.
mind you everyone, the original Martina is still kicking ass!!
It seems a lot of players who became world class at a young age have a tremendous problem with injuries (Anna, Hingis, Venus Williams). Their bodies are probably not ready for the intense training and weight lifting they do -- much like young baseball pitchers.

she's retired and now having sergio garcia put it in her hole full time.
