Advice from tfp cyclists
Hi all,
Can anyone share experiance on bluetooth headsets and bicycklehelmets ? Yours Zweiblumen |
I don't recommend them. I prefer being full alert when riding. Are you looking for music, radio or cellphone calls? for calls, it shouldn't be too bad but music/radio is not something you should try to do.

I'm used to cycle with music, but now Im required to beable to take calls so I'm looking into getting a headset that can do both.
Something like this http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/sc/323637...overview-1.gif As of with the music and being alert, I have long history of riding and listening to music at the same time without any incidents. I don't ride as much now as I would like to but I'm not aiming for the 5000 km/year that I used to do :-) Thank you for your time, Zweiblumen |
I wear headphones all the time on the back roads I take to and from work. I am more a a visual person and would rather look and see what is around me than listen. Although I can still hear most things even while listening to the podcasts.

I'm pretty sure the law here in MD states that cyclists can only use one ear for headphones or ear pieces and must keep the other free of any devices, and I know this is the case in other states. It might be worth checking the local statutes to see about that where you are.

Thanks for your advise and concern.
Wearing a headset would be least of my problems here if the police decided to enforce laws and regulations on bicycles :-) Yours Zweiblumen PS: If you are wondering you actually can get a speed ticket on a bike |
