NFL, who's gonna go all the way?
With last night being the start of the 2008 season of the NFL, who are your two picks to go all the way? I grew up as a Redskins fan but since living in Texas for some time, I have crossed the line and become a Cowboy's fan. Of course, I have to pick the Boys to go all the way this year. As far as who else.... I'm not sure yet. What a pitiful game last night. My old team, the Redskins got stomped by the Giants. Oh well

If I was going to put money on it right now I say the Chargers and the Cowboys. Both have decent teams and the Chargers schedule will help them some, IMO. I think the Cowboy have serious chance to dominate the NFC. But that's just looking at the line ups and schedules. I really dislike the Cowboy's. It's not much that I'd like to see them lose, I'd really rather their plane crashed.

Anyway, It's hard to really believe in a team with a QB who has a spotty postseason record (chargers) and a poor postseason record (cowboys). The Cowboys have a team full of allstars (which in this era of salary caps and free agency is mildly impressive) but that really doesn't guarantee much. Although the Patriots preseason play is concerning at best, I still believe that they have a nice mix of veterans and rookies, as well as the best coaching staffs in the business (part of their early struggles may be Dom Capers' acclimating to the new team and system). I still think that the AFC has a couple more really good teams, Pittsburg, Indy and Jax should all continue their strong form, while the NFC East where two of the best teams are may beat each other up.

llow - you're obviously never been an SEC fan. When Florida plays Georgia, I root for the ambulance. When Alabama played Clemson over the weekend I hoped for the Tide to win since it would help the conference but that all their players would be carted off the field at the end of the game.
Well, it ain't gonna be the Bears this year. The Jets might actually be ok this year, and I'm going to be interested to see what Parcells can do with the Dolphins. To win it all? I like the Chas, to be honest.

No Pack fans? Well, no one believed in us last year either.
Until Rodgers played better then Favre did today, with a QB rating of 115, against the team everyone says is going to beat mine; woops! Oh, did I mention my o-line tried to self-destruct (including a fucking stupid call on Moll that got a beautiful TD pass called back) and they still didn't get a sack (against the so-called "best defensive line in the league"); and he still finished by completing 81% of his passes. Barnett finished with 8 tackles, Grant busted a couple of huge gains (and finished with ten yards less then the "best back in the league"), and, also, had a MUCH higher YPC than Peterson at 7.7 a carry, with Peterson at 5.4... what?! We rock. "Oh, Ted Thompson is sooooo stupid" Suck on that haters.

Cowboys are looking good. Pats are out. Jets (go Grandpa Farve!) and Bills become very interesting and possible contenders. Indy needs to get it together. Chargers only if Philip Rivers (who actually did a good job yesterday) can be reliable.

I'm a Packer fan, but i don't see how they can go all the way. Rodgers or not, they were beaten in the trenches in last season's NFC title game and in Dallas. Both lines are essentially the same. |

I like the Packers. I wish Farve could have finished his career there, but think he played that weird to be honest.
I like a lot of teams, all in all that's why I like the NFL season so much. I can always find a game with a team I like. I added two more Sat. dishes to my roof this summer mainly because I was able to trade some work for them and this way never miss a game. Unless of course it rains hard, then I play chess or black jack on-line

This just in: Tarvaris Jackson has been benched for Gus Ferotte. That makes me happy, you know, because we'll still crush them. That is the second young, mobile, black quarterback benched for an older, pocket only, white one this week.

I was rooting for the Eagles too, but they blew it in the last drive. Great game though.

He's not looking too smart today. His new punter is worse than Ryan, his o-line is mediocre on their good days, the defensive line is often unproductive, Ryan Grant is showing why the Giants didn't want him, his fragile QB was outperformed by Kyle Orton and Gus Frerotte -- and he has no decent backup in case Rodgers can't play.

Screw you? Hmm, so what's your sign? Honestly the Green Bay/Tampa Bay was hard for me to pick a winner. I like them both. I usually root for the home team when two teams I like play each other.
