TFP Cyclists?
Any cyclists out there?
I just went completely nuts and bought myself a road bike (Novarra Carema Pro) with Speedplay pedals and all... but I'm completely new to the cycling scene. I might have overdone it with the pedals, especially since I'm just getting started in the sport. Any tips for beginners? |
well, clipless pedals are an absolute necessity if you're going to be at all serious about the sport. Speedplays are nice for some people because they are a) double sided and b) have more "float" (knee rotation) than most other types. The downside is that they can sometimes be more of a challenge to get in and out of, and they are less adjustable than the "normal" pedals from Look, Shimano, etc.
Congratulations on joining the scene. Depending on where you live, stop in some shops and see if there are any group rides for beginners in your area. Road biking is one of those sports that I find is greatly enhanced by doing it with others. |
A lot of cyclists on this board have been posting in this thread: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/general...le-riders.html
