Hi,
Who does everyone else here follow in this league. I'm a newcastle fan, and i'm very pleased with our result this weekend and feel that if injuries are kept low then we could push for a UEFA cup place. Thoughts and who do you guys support? |

See my avatar for a clue!
Great start to the season - a win for us, a draw for United, and broken foot for Wayne Rooney! I think it will be a very close season in the race for the title - I think Chelsea might be favourites due to the depth of their squad, but I doub there'll be more than a handful of points seperating the top 3 or 4 clubs. So many clubs have made the effort to improve heading into the season outside the top 4 - Newcastle bringing in Big Sam, City bringing in Sven. Both those teams will show big improvements over last year and will be in the UEFA Cup mix with Everton, Spurs and Blackburn. I'm pipping Derby and Wigan to go down for sure, with Fulham, Bolton, Birmingham and Sunderland all trying to avoid 18th place.

Well, my team play in the Championship...
I really can't see the title going anywhere other than Man United or Chelsea again... Liverpool and Arsenal still arent really close enough once you get past the first 11, and no one else is close at all. ... But the most positive thing I can think of is the continuing demise of Leeds United. Ken Bates and Denis Wise... couldnt think of a chairman or a manager who deserve each other more - nor a club that deserves both more. Hooligan fans, dirty players, shit club.

Is there anyone outside of Leeds that doesn't hate them?
Having said that, they had 25,000 fans today at a League One game so credit to the diehards there. Started the season with a 15 point deduction but have won their first couple of matches.

Hubby and I don't have a team that we really support yet, although he is becoming partial to Chelsea.

Personally, I hate Chelsea. Most people hate Chelsea. But, they have done a super job marketing their team in recent years and a lot of people new to the game are adopting them as their team, so hats off to them in that respect and I can't blame anyone for picking up on their recent success. Have fun watching the games!

Anyway, for most people it isnt a choice who you support. I never picked a team: my dad started taking me to football when I was 7 or 8 and that was that.
You dont compare all the stats and have a think and then decide which women youre gonna fall in love with... its the same with being a fan.... only more so really. Most relationships between two people wont last sadly, but once you are a fan of a team you can never be a fan of another.... its until you die.

I think my avatar gives the game away a little!
There's so much shit flying round here today regarding yesterdays match. When chumps like Mourinho spout the self righteous shite he is coming out with (Chelsea are a naive team....) then it's no wonder that we all love to hate him. The guy brings it on himself, but I'm sure he knows exactly what he's doing. He can't be that crazy.........can he. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Man Utd training ground this morning. Fergie will be doing his absolute fucking nut. Worst start to a campaign in 15 years. I love it. Come on you reds!!!!!!

I'd like him to officiate the return match at the Bridge and give us a phantom penalty to even things up! And yeah, perfect start for Fergie! I like the results Sven has gotten. He's a damn fine club manager and I hope City see some success under him. With the start they've gotten, does the UEFA Cup beckon?

as far as the United start.. no worries. You'll see the table flip before too long. City has a great start but I really don't see them finishing inside the top 5. |

I think probably the funniest football chant I ever heard was
The famous Man United went to see the Pope in Rome! The famous Man United went to see the Pope in Rome! The famous Man United went to see the Pope in Rome! And this is what he said: FUCK OFF!

Well, he was only ever going to play Carling Cup/Fa Cup ties and maybe the odd Champions League game, wasn't he?
As much as we hate Man U, Solskjaer was a model pro and seemed a pretty decent guy. You'll be after Anelka or Gudjonsson, I bet. We'll be after a versatile defender, I think, before the transfer window closes.

As to Saha - he'll recover, play 2.5 games, and be injured for another 2 months! That guy is an eggshell.
