Watching Baseball Smarter
A friend of mine has written a very insightful book about baseball that I felt should get some more publicity. Watching Baseball Smarter: A Professional Fan's Guide for Beginners, Semi-experts, and Deeply Serious Geeks by Zack Hample. The book goes over baseball from top to bottom, giving readers knowledge they may or may not already know. For the beginners, the book explains rules, situations and ettitquette. For the experts, the book gives amusing anecdotes and little-known facts along with obscure knowledge about details you never bothered to think about. I myself am an expert fan, and I am enjoying the book. Perhaps what is helping me enjoy it is figuring how I will use the book to teach my friends who don't understand Baseball to appreciate it a little more.
If you want to get it from Amazon, expect a few weeks delay. I had it on order for a couple weeks, but I found the book at Barnes and Noble and decided to buy it right away. Anyways, if you have a passion for baseball, would like to understand the game better, or are bored, try and find this book and put it to good use.

Yeah, I saw him on Sunday and he signed my copy. "Go Dodgers! (Just not against the Mets.)"
