Michael Irvin sacked!
ESPN has announced that Michael Irvin will not be returning to his analyst position at ESPN next season - i.e. he's being let go.
I despised him as a player (obviously I'm not a Cowboys' fan) but thought he brought a player's side of the game to the booth most can't or won't bring in. Was it a move by ESPN because he was controversial? A ticking time bomb? Or was it to make room for Bill Parcells? My vote is for Parcells. |

I thought he was great on the show. I think this is a really bad decision.

I found him annoying. I'm not sad he's getting the boot. Did he get caught with strippers and blow again?
|
Eh, he was okay. He sometimes took the wrong stand on things, but overall, I could tolerate him. He definately made some bad choices.

I don't have a problem with them getting rid of him. He didn't annoy me, but I didn't always agree with his stance, especially his constant apologizing for T.O. I suppose he felt like if he was critical of certain players, especially the controversial ones, he would loose some credibility or be seen as a hypocrite. I mean, he wasn't exactly a choir boy.

He was pretty obnoxious, I don't think this is a big loss. Curious as to why, though, exactly, because despite my opinions I thought he was pretty popular.
