Favre To Return In 2007

C'mon Brett... It's been a mediocre few seasons. How much of what's going on in Green Bay is because he doesn't have a team? Should a QB be able to make do, even without an o-line?

Will this end badly for Brett?

I'm so incredibly unsure about this. When I saw the Packers lose to the Seahawks, he was sulking on the sidelines. Kicking his feet in the snow. It was sad.

I think Brett Favre is one the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but he's played a few seasons too long, in my opinion. However; one result of playing a few seasons too long is that he's VERY close to setting the all-time record for touchdown passes. How can you quit when you're this close to breaking such an important record? I think he should play until he passes Marino, and then retire.

I know I'm a Bears fan and this won't be taken well by the Packer loyalists, but seriously, this is getting old. Every year it's the same thing, he plays it up like he's going to retire, the talking heads go on for months about it, then he comes back. Call me when he actually does retire, then it'll be news.

Exactly. Favre hasn't played too many seasons, it's just old because every year we hear the same stuff. If we weren't subjected to "is he or isn't he" at the end of every season, it wouldn't be a situation of "coming back" to play. He'd just be a great QB that continues to play.

As a side, I went down to Buffalo last fall to see the Bills play the Packers. I had never seen Brett play, and I thought it'd be my last opportunity. Sigh.

At least he announced it at the end of the season this year, instead of humming and hawing like last off season.

I'll give you that. That screwed you guys over something terrible last year.

You heard it here first - next year Urlacher is going to hit Farve so hard it'll break his hip. Farve's at the magic age (38) where quarterbacks start to really suck unless they're someone who hasn't take as much abuse as the average, like Testeverde or Moon. Farve's taken too many big hits to survive the 07 season in any sort of shape to lead anyone to the playoffs.

And all of Green Bay collectively sighs in relief after Sunday's result.

The fact that Brett is not retiring is really screwing up the GB Brass' plan of drafting that QB from California

I don't particularly like players who stick around just to break a record, and I'm not saying that Brett is doing that, but it would be a shame if he holds hostage the future of the team because he wants to break a record. Also, just because he hasn't been seriously hurt doesn't mean he can't be. Nothing remains the same, and it is quite possible that he can have a career ending injury that not only ends his career but hampers his life after football.

Farve was one of the best; but he should have retired 2 years ago. It is sad to
one of the best try to play when his skills are diminishing.
