Need help choosing my hockey picks
I'm joining the hockey pool at work (trying to do as much as I can to make new friends ) and frankly I really know nothing about hockey (well very little....). There's only two chicks joining and I'm one of them and we really want to win this thing if even for bragging rights! So I was wondering if all you hockey fans/experts out there could help me choose my team (10 players, and some backups for if I don't get my top picks). Apparantly they'll be posting a roster with stats etc (?). We're going to do the draft on October 5th so any help before then would be HUGELY appreciated! Help me win these bragging rights

I'm not sure about stats required but the rules are as follows:
Choose 15 players total Can be any position - (can do all goalies if the desire strikes) And we're choosing them in a snake fashion (1st to last - last to 1st - repeat) Basically I'm just looking for a list of the top overall players. I've done my research and have an updated list of all the injuries for every team (current as of yesterday) and so am avoiding those players. And I've got a list of how well each player did last year, but ya, I just need some overall top picks Am I making sense? lol |

I pillaged this list from somewhere else, but it'll give you a good idea on how things stand. I don't agree with some of the rankings here, but you won't really go wrong picking from the top down from this list.

Ok, I freaked out here!
@ first I was going to point out that me and Tempboy have similar names... then I looked @ his location and he lives on the exact same street as me! I do agree with the list you put up for the most part. but how is this league ran, does ice time matter? +/-? Penalties? What position are you to pick? this can give us some ideas on how should be your first pick. (who will actually be left) |

I don't know what position I'll be picking - we'll just draw numbers when it starts. And I don't think ice time matters, and we're doing it fairly simply - one point for a goal, one for an assist. I don't think penalties will come into play at all....

1.Ilya Kovalchuk 2.Mats Sundin 3.Brad Boyes 4.Mark Bell 5.Keith Tkachuk 6.Wade Redden 7.Ryan Malone 8.Trent Hunter 9.Matt Cullen 10.Mark Parrish |
